After more than ten years, I have finally used up my bottle of Kodak Poly-Toner. Most of the time I used it with Ilford MG and loved the subtle warming I would get. All of a sudden, using the new Poly-Toner, I only get a minutely different tone. Did Ilford MG change or did the Poly Toner change? Any thoughts? Many thanks!

I heard that Poly-Toner has been discontinued, so this may be the last bottle you are ever able to get. Have you tried it with a different paper yet?

Thanks Ed - ya, it works great with Gekko and Forte Polwarmtone - RC & FB. Those are the only papers I have tried, other than the Ilford MG.chris

There was a recent post on the Alt-Photo-Process mail list regarding how to mix your own poly-toner. I'll try to find it for you this weekend.

It appears I did not save the post. However, there is an archive. The post was just made last month and the May archive is not yet available, but should appear in the next couple of weeks. Check http://www.usask.ca/lists/alt-photo-process/.

I hope this info might be useful. I just found Kodak polytoner by doing a Yahoo shopping search for it. It came up at a place called Bob's Club, from which I ordered two quarts. The URL was too long to include, so it's easier to just do the search. If the toner keeps for a long time, one could stock up.
