So, it looks like I'll get another M6TTL instead of the M7 for now but since I sold my SF-20 (which I don't particularly like) I was thinking of getting the Metz 54mz-3 flash instead (since I'll get a M7 sooner or later) Will that thing work properly on the M6TTL?

Yes but no HSS or second curtain sync(which you would get with a M7).
