Ques: The current issue of sexual abuse was not on the agenda. The spokesperson for the youth stated she is not interested in this rather a celebration of Faith.Ques: In her own words " We maybe in denial. " Are the youth of today in denial of this issue?

I wondered about the youth too, and how they are reacting to all this.I wonder if Youth Ministers are addressing these issues with the kids.
As for denial, after watching 60 minutes last night, and CNN all day today, there is no room for denial any more. Jesus says whatever is done in the dark will be revealed in the light and that is exactly what is taking place at the conference today.
The victims' voices are being heard and I hope and pray this is the beginning of a healing process for everyone involved - healing, and a beginning toward a healthier church and a healthier life for the victims. It must be so healing for them to get this all out for the Bishops, cardinals, priests, laity, and the entire world to hear their side of the story. How painful it must be for them to speak of these things to the entire world, but, hopefully, they will now get the empathy, and validation they so desperately need to hear.
How anyone can say this is catholic bashing, I don't know.
God bless them all.

MaryLu - I admire you so much in this forum. Fred - Have you a URL for the Dallas Conferance? I am not a T.V. watcher. Perhaps ten hours per year. Radio is where I am at. Tnanks.

Thank you Jean. Why don't you just type in Dalls Conference or something like that in your search engine. It should bring you to a site, or check out CNN or CBS, any of the news stations, Jean.CNN has been covering it all morning. Normally, I do not watch daytime television except for Foxnews...
I, too, am a radio person. My son said I am getting old because I listen to talk radio now instead of music. (ha,ha) He remembers when grandma used to listen to talk radio. I am not old, but I guess I am getting to that age.
Actually, I started listening to radio more frequently after 9/ll. I listen to Sean Hannity in the afternoon. Do you listen to him?
He is a staunch, devout Irish Catholic who attended seminary at one time and is very conservative in his views - I don't think Sean ever did anything wrong in his life. It comforts me to listen to him because he is truthful about the scandal and his feelings as painful as it is to him to talk about this and he gets a lot of hate-mail.
Like me, he loves his church but does not like what is going on.

Tee-hee!
Jean (a liberal par excellence) listening to Sean Hannity?I'd love to see it, Mary Lu. But I think that hell will freeze over first.
And, alas, Sean probably cannot even be heard in Jean's Canada.
