My friends and I plan to cycle in Penang Island during end of July for 4 days, could anyone advise where we can rent ~10 mountain bikes there and how much does it cost? Also we need a budget hotel nearby China Town. We are from Bangkok, Thailand. Please answer to my e-mail : neungt@hotmail.com.

You might want to get in touch with the Knights of the Round Table, a riding group in Penang. Go to the first page of their website, and shoot an e- mail to any one of the 3 contacts on the main page: Turbo Snail, 'Rin or Azmi. They will be able to help you out. Another alternative is to work out a deal with the hotels on Batu Feringgi beach. They usually have lots of bikes for rent, though these will certainly not be high- end ones.

Hi Sangdeaun, if u are looking for budget hotels, there a lot of very cheap accomodations beside Park Royal and it is almost on the beach at Batu Feringgi. It is better to bring ur bikes along as there non hi-end bikes for rental in Penang. However, in contrast to BKK, u will find that there some good trails available for u.
