One of Christ's little one I feel was saved from great harmful manipulation and pain due to a thread on Charismatic Catholics. This young lady is aged 19 has been attending a Pentecostal Church group for a number of years. Her parents are totallly non Christians.

This past three months has seen a change in her not showing itself in peace rather confusion and questioning her " church " group. It appears there is a Friday night gathering for those ' gifted ' with tongues. Why is Friday always chosen I wonder.

Anways she related to me her discomfort with having been invited as it time for her to be introduced to the Holy Spirit that dwells within that community.

She related being totally surrounded that is encircled by members and then the chosen ones as there were two approached one in front the other in back of her.

They commenced to run their hands over her torso and back and then one rubbing her head in a clockwise motion while the other anti-clockwise. The group members then began mumbling in tongues. End result she walked away frightened and feeling sick to her stomach.

When she related this occurance to me I suggested we look at both physical happenings and emotional content. She felt she had been physically offended and emotionally made to feel ill.

Now to the point of my thread in thanking the forum for help in this matter. I brought her to the thread on Charismatic Catholics and had her read it entirely.

Discussion lead to the following: nobody is allowed to touch her without her permission EVER! Secondly she had obtained through prayer as this involved weeks of " sessions " by myself her coming to understand what was/had/is taking place in her spiritual life.

She had been given four gifts of the Holy Spirit many long months ago without her knowing. The posting of the Gifts by MaryLu is part of the thread I used in thes sessions. MayLu you must be a wonderful mom.

The gift of WISDOM allowed her to seek and decide on a decision that has led her away from this fundamentalist group. FAITH in knowing The Father through Jesus would lead her to a better community. MIRACLES in that almost all she has asked of Christ through prayer have happened although as she stated He takes His time (darn).

DISCERNMENT which allowed her to know that evil existed in the group which showed itslef in their not wanting her to leave as she may be in danger if others are allowed to approach her in this area of gaining the Holy Spirit.

She has now returned to attending Church with her Grandmother which has excited both to no end. Both are smiling and happy with the thought of praying together once more after a three year relapse.

Thank you, David, for the compliment. My kids are all grown and on their own now...one still lives home, but is not around much. It is funny you should say that today because my first-born came by for a visit today and I asked him if I was a good mom. Of course, he said I was... ha,ha I hope I was. I tried. There are no books written on how to be a good parent.

For those of you who had good 'examples' growing up - thank God for that blessing.
