Ok, i'd just like to say that i've been watching DragonBall Z for a while (who hasn't) and i've noticed something... they always make some dumb comment or move.

For example: "Oh my god, i'll never be able to escape that!"

First of all, the dumb comments come from the lack of actual words. When they translate soemthing, it might not be long enough for the action in the cartoon. Now who would want to see the mouth of the character moving, without words to fill in the spots? Most of the "gay" comments come from the Funamation or whatever it might be called. And the dumb actions? Well I haven't seen a single one of them. Yes, I know they can teleport, but who would want to watch that on TV? A Ki blast, then teleport, and so on. People want to see action. Not an everlasting fight that could bore a dead man.

I'm baaack. Here I come. First off, again. The blasts are not slow moving "lazers" they are actually, very fasts moving Ki blasts. Now I don't want to go into great detail, but Ki is basically a persons lifeforce. They just slow down the animation of the Ki blast so you can SEE IT! And I know this because, if you watch when Goku, Vegeta, or any character good or bad, is flying/running from a Ki blast, it is usually right on their tail.

I agree with the person above. The ki blasts are really fast they just slow it down so we can see it. And the reason they dont just teleport is because they cant.Goku is the only one that can really teleport the rest can just move really fast. The only problem i have with dbz is they waste a lot of time during the episodes. I dont like Gotenks but i understand why they made him act like he does. Has any one notice the time slow down???? The battles last hours but realisticly last minutes. The battles take foever cause they slow it down to make a show. They cant dodge the energy cause they are thinking to them selves about the attack adding time to the show to make it a show. Gotenks is a very cool character like vegeto!!! i WORSHIP the ground DBZ walks on. Yes, it has its flaws, but not many. Don't be so hard on it. OK, so they look constipated. We all know this, get over it. But it is the coolest show I have ever watched. Time in it is drawn out a bit, but thats only to add to the effect of how important these battles are. The series was actually supposed to end after the freiza saga, with Goku being the last super saiya-jin, but it continued by popular demand. That is why the fight with frieza is so dragged out. They kinda stand in one spot because the blast that is coming towards them is pretty fast, it just seems slower. The fact is, even with super speed, they couldn't avoid it. Sometimes they have the chance to block it, sometimes they don't. ^_^ Either way, I LOVE this show, so don't be messin around with it.

I am a huge dbz fan as well.... but making a live action movie would probably hurt the dbz franchise. first of all, you have to find a suitable cast. second, most (if not all) of the movie would be cgi (special effects) and that costs a hell of a lot of money. third, it would have to be a movie series because you can't cram an entire saga in 2,3, or even 4 hours! alltogether, the cost of making this movie series would probably be more than 150 million dollars. and in order to make a profit, the movie would have to make more than 150 million dollars. now i know that there will be a huge merchandise campaign to go along with the movies, so that will help. i would just hate to see the dbz franchise get hurt. just sit down and watch the saiyin saga... that can't be made into a live action movie! and i think the movie or movies will be about the saiyin saga. please dont hurt the franchise!

Just felt I had to add this, for the benefit of those who haven't read the manga. In the anime Vegetto WAS being arrogant and idiotic and playing around with Buu. However in the manga it was deliberate - they WANTED to get absorbed so they could go in there and find their kids. Plus that's what they went straight to, the incident with the worms never happened and although Evil Buu did appear inside his own body he never toyed with them 'cos Vegeta pulled Fat Buu down right away. The anime presents a skewed picture of Toriyama's original ideas and while I do enjoy watching this, I just felt I had to enlighten you people. Oh, and by the way, Goten and Trunks are still shitty little bastards.

TG, what do you mean by domesticated? We're never told how Vegeta and Bulma got together but as far as I can see it was of both their free wills. Vegeta keeps his Saiyan pride and he keeps training hard and sure he's fond of his son (Let me hug you. Awwwwwww....) but that's normal. I don't recall a single instance in the manga when Bulma treated Vegeta badly and I've read all 42 volumes. Mebbe you can point me towards some episodes instead.

wow Maron... bit of a B/V fanatic? There is no way that he says 'i love you!' Personally, I really don't like them as a couple. And they did get together for sex, until after Cell when the actual romance started. There was NOTHING in the 'magical three years' that had to do with romance. Controller J, the manga is sooo different from the anime. I have yet to read all of the manga, but I want to one day. and i forgot who said it but.. BULMA'S SWEET KIND PERSONALITY?! what are YOU smoking?! She is CONSTANTLY screaming... almost as much as Chi Chi! BTW I would just like to inform you CHI CHI AND GOKU AREN'T MARRIED!!!!!! The vows go "til death do you part" and how many times has Goku died?? But, note several things. Trunks says in the manga that Bulma and Vegeta were only together for a 'passion' thing. This implys that instead of this supposed love that formed in the three year time was just a few nights in the sack together. Had Yamcha and Bulma been faithful to each other, I believe they would have made a better couple. and Controller J, I just hate her character all together. I do not like Bulma, and I do not like her anymore with Vegeta. That is all I have to say about that. At the end of the series Vegeta is so sweet (in the anime) it is disgusting. Blamed on Bulma.

He softens up a bit towards the end, it is a bit sickening but he doesn't turn into a wuss by any means. I still stand by my point that Vegeta and Bulma go together but perhaps it's because there isn't any other female character for him to go with. Lunch vanishes, Chichi sucks (it's true, it's true), No. 18 kicked his butt so I'm surprised she's not on his hitlist. Bulma actually suits his lifestyle: she's used to danger and martial arts and stuff and doesn't mind him going off and training all the time. Plus she doesn't make any demands on his time or affection (definitely no "I LOVE YOU" garbage) plus she's filthy rich so he can live in the way he's accustomed to. Maybe Vegeta could've just been left unwed but once he had to be paired up with someone I think Bulma was the best choice. Unless, of course, you want to make him gay :P

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention something. The whole "Till death do us part" thing forms part of WESTERN marriage vows. Dragonball is a Japanese comic and the setting is heavily influenced by China so I don't think you can assume those were in fact the actual vows they used. Now I have seen some screenshots from the anime where Chichi is in a white wedding gown and Goku is in some nasty, poncy, frilly tuxedo so I assume that's their Western-style wedding ceremony, in which case Vegiita's Demon would be right.

Needless to say, this never happens in the manga, Chichi and Goku just go whizzing off on Kintoun and we don't see them again for the next 5 years. Maybe we're all assuming they got married just because Goku promised they would. Maybe he forgot(yeah right, as if she'd let him). Point is, the manga doesn't show diddly-squat. I advice reading the manga b4 watching the anime, otherwise you'll probably feel cheated: "Where's the part where X does Y? And what about the part where A says B to C?" That's just the way it is.

Oh yeah, about the manga I think this site had translated manga scans until very recently: http://www.dbz-fan.net/manga.shtml I know it had at least vol 20 to 42 intact so you can e-mail the site manager and see if he'll do requests or streamload or something. Or you can buy the Japanese versions, check eBay. Or you can wait for the next 2 or 3 years while Viz takes its time translating it.

Thanks Controller J. Appreciated. Maron, come on. In the Android Saga, if Vegeta had a relationship with Bulma then he would have been with her when she arrived with Trunks. She even said in the anime they hadn't seen each other much. All I am saying is that he knocked her up, and then after the Cell Games decided to stay. There is no possible way there was a romance before that. I'm sorry. And the reason he stayed and followed her rules was cause of the GR! The woman and the GR were a package deal. I will admit, there were some B/V moments in the anime, but not enough to convince me. I got past my B/V loving stage and now dislike the couple. Yea, I do feel bad for them. I met Chris Sabat (Vegeta's english voice actor) and what a nice guy! He was soooo nice to me... he hugged me and shook my hand and gave me a free prize! Probably cause i was the only girl there wearing a Prince Vegeta shirt, that is now signed and hung in my room. Anyway, the thing about Trunks is that Vegeta attacked out of pure rage. Unlike he usually does, he had no strategy to fight Cell and was blinded by fury, therefore easily beaten. No, he did not go SSJ2, but I'm pretty sure he was SSJ 1.5. Thats the one that Mirai goes into when fighting Cell and he loses. So the lesson here is: have a plan when fighting, or your fucked.

Gohan does not rule, he is EXTREMELY dull and he has VERY poor taste in women. I DESPISE videl, can you tell? He's not bad-looking but after all the hype at the end of the Cell Saga I thought he would amount to something special later on. I completely agree Controller J! I did not like Gohan at all after Cell. He was awesome during the games, at least when he wasn't giving shit about not liking to fight. What kind of saiyan is that? I think the best is when the tutor came, because as evil as he is, he beat up Gohan. ^_^ Not sure if that was in the manga, probably not though. Anyway, Gohan and Saiyaman are just.. blech. He's not THAT bad. In fact for most of the series he's pretty decent. I think he's remarkably well-adjusted for someone who grew up with Chichi as a mother. Then again he married Videl. Hmmm.... He just gets so pathetic in the Buu saga, all this "mystic" stuff and in the end Goku, Vegeta and Mr Satan (Mr Satan I ask you!) end up saving the day. Thats cold. really...cold. if anyone hasnt noticed yet (my e-mail address) Vegeta is my fave character in the world (Bra's second) and, yea he does get his ass kicked in every single battle (except Android 19, imperfect Cell 2nd stage, Kiwi, Zarbon, Dodoria, blah blah blah) but you have to remember 3 things: 1. He's the 2nd strongest character in the show(sometimes surpassed Goku); 2. He's trying to show off to make sure everyone knows hes best(or 2nd best whatever); and 3. Sorry Maron. I'm against you for your reasons about liking Vegeta. If you hadn't noticed hes also my favorite character. But I will tell you, I hated that he turned into a good guy and became soft. He was perfect in the Namek saga. Only out for himself, nobody else. That is the TRUE Vegeta. I respect and admire him, and I often look towards his personality for ways to deal with things. A lot of the things I do are from his personality, before he became sentimental. The reason why he is so cool is because of his arrogant personality, constant drive, strong will, and determination. I mean, he was put through A LOT of Freeza's ship and LIVED! That takes a lot. If you like Vegeta for those reasons, then you should be a Trunks fan. Sorry. And it is mythed that Vegeta went SSJ 2 when Trunks was killed, but I'm pretty sure it is when he was training in those 7 years.

the reson goku could win so easily as super saiyjin is because his power level jumps from 700,000,000 to 15 million and freiza was lying when he said he was using 1 percent he was using about 30 percent and goku was using abou 60 percent then goku used 100percent and freiza used about 75 percent then goku turned super saiyin and was much stronger than freiza at full strength....... i agreee with you guys saiyaman is the worst character ever besides chautzou

Sorry. I didn't say you were insulting it, or at least didn't mean it. It's just that a lot of people DO insult it with suddleties like that. For example, someone (Not YOU, anyone) could say "Notice Dragonball isn't on anymore..." and by it mean "It's not on, so there's no point in watching it cuz it's over and isn't coming back". Uhhhh...Again, this isn't targeted at YOU ???, but DBGT isn't on anymore...And it only WAS on for 64 episodes, while DBZ was for 296, not even counting original DB!!!!!! So why the Hell would we talk about GT? The only good thing about GT was the last episode, which gave a much more precise ending than Z's sucky one...None of these great Anime are on anymore (GT ain't great but you know what I mean), so why don't we just talk about whatever we want, hm?

Not that way at all. Everyone has their own opinion, which is why we can talk about DBZ here. And no, not every episode was awesome. MOST were. Usually if it wasn't by Toriyama (As in Filler-Episodes by Toei) it sucked, and some of even Toriyama Sensei's storylines were dry (Jinzoningen Juukyuugou and Nijuugou? ICK!!!! I HATED that whole part of the Jinzouningen Saga!!!!!). Hope that clears it up.
