What do all of you hardcore anime watchers think of Escaflowne. I'm from Canada, and we don't get much half decent (well actually, most of it is crap, not half decent) so I am VERY much attatched to Escaflowne. Please bear in mind that I do very much care about the artistic value of Sub, and I KNOW, that dubbed is basically the mutilated version of anime, I mean all you have to do is think about Card Captor Sakura's Nelvana dubbing and you'll know what I mean. So take that into consideration when you answer, but also remember, I LOVE Escaflowne, and personally, I think it is incredibly powerful even in dubbed. Answer away

I thought Escaflowne was great. I've got the whole collection on DvD (almost, I'm missing volume 2) and it's got options for dubbed and japanese with english subtitles. I also saw the movie and thought it was alright but the movie only has 2 guymelefs which pisses me off. There's only 1 guymelef fight in the movie and it's not as intense as the TV show's fights but it is a more gigantic (I don't know how to describe it, the fight scene in the movie made me full of awe kind of, like there should be a huge choir singing Carmina Burana's second movement during it or something).

Wow...Escaflowne......one of the first animes i ever saw, about six years ago, so im very attached to it. but the ending dissapointed me, and so did the manga. but its such a great story line and i feel connected to almost all of the charaters, even the ones i didnt like, lol. But i have to say...the english version kinda disgusted me...but alot of dubbing does...Dilly sounded like a five year old >.>;
