Call for Entries--Visual Ironygreenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo: Creativity, Etc. : One Thread |
Dulce Gallery at El Eden Chocolates, an alternative exhibit space for photography in New York City, is seeking submissions for its upcoming exhibition, "Visual Irony."According to Merriam-Webster's Dictionary, irony is defined as an "incongruity between the actual result of a sequence of events and the normal or expected result." This exhibit will feature those incongruities in photographs. If you have images or want to take some images that capture the visual ironies of life, please consider submitting them for this exhibit.
Our gallery space is very small but we usually accept about 12 images from numerous photographers. To obtain a full prospectus on our submission process visit www.eledenchocolates.com and click where it says Dulce Gallery at the bottom of the Home Page. At the bottom of the gallery page you can print out both our prospectus and our photographer's questionnaire. If you do not have access to our website, you can send us a self-addressed stamped envelope and we can mail you the prospectus and questionnaire. Our mailing address is El Eden Chocolates, 443 East Sixth Street, New York, NY 10009.
The exhibit will hang from October 10--December 5, 2002. However, the submission deadline is Friday, September 13, 2002. There is a small fee of $12 for up to three (3) submission entries. This fee helps us to pay a small portion of the cost of requesting submissions and promoting the exhibit once it is mounted. We accept submissions in slide and digital formats but you must read the Prospectus in order to get the full details.
We hope you will consider submitting your image(s) for this upcoming show. If you don't think this exhibit is right for you but you want to be sure to be notified of upcoming exhibition opportunities, please send me an email message or a postcard with your mailing address on it and the word PHOTOGRAPHER so that I know to add you to our submission mailing list.
Thank you, M. Dybec Dulce Gallery at El Eden Chocolates
