How are you coping?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Xeney : One Thread |
So how are you all coping with the second campout of the year? Big plans for the weekend to distract you?I was talking with Plin, and I've set up a cheesy Bravenet chat room (go to http://www.amberdragon.ca/chat.html for the link) if anyone wants to chat. I don't know how often I will be there, but hey, it was quick, cheap and free. So those who live by chat, go to town. It's the swimming in the lake with no weeds bonus type of camping.
This weekend I am hoping that my thesis will drown out all my sorrows and not create new ones. Fingers crossed.

Cool, thanks, Kate! And good luck with your thesis.I'm doing much better since Jeremy just emailed and told me that Belinda is here! Yeehaw. He's also talking to our DSL provider to see how much bandwidth we can get. We *might* be able to host the board (very very slowly) from our house for a couple of weeks while we get the colocation gig together. We didn't want to do that, but then we expected to have West Host for the interim.

My gawd, between 3WA and TUS being down, I'm about to have a heart attack.Good thing I actually HAD work to do at work today, and only just discovered this in the last few minutes of it before I break out.

At the moment I'm playing with my new Netflix queue. I just got a DVD player Friday and thanks to the evil influence of TUS I signed up for Netflix immediately on Saturday. I can't wait till the happy little packages show up in my mailbox!Another messageboard I post on is ALSO down, so aside from this, netflix, and email, I shall be forced to actually work today.

I'm coping by listening to the many used CDs I picked up this weekend. I've got Shonen Knife, Art of Noise, Beatles, Steeleye Span, Screaming Jay Hawkins, and Pogues CDs to listen to, as well as TV's Greatest Hits, vol. 2, the soundtrack to Faraway, So Close, and a collection of Disney songs.

I am coping by taking out my stress on my coworker's latest software release. he asked me to bug test and I just uncovered several major bugs. I feel kind of bad for ripping his sofware to shreds, but in some weird way it was good for my lack-of-forum stress.

I started a journal, thanks to the influence of TUS. I'll post a link on the regular board when Beth brings it back up today. Of course, I should be working, but why should today be different from any other day?

I cry a lot.Actually, I just got through 11 days of houseguests (a few days too many, really, although it was fun) so that was pretty distracting. And my liver isn't going to forgive me anytime soon.
Now I have to catch up on work and the boards and figuring out how we suddenly got switched to MCI phone service even though I made no arrangements to do so. Bastards.
