OK, I got some very bad news today. I called Cagiva USA and found out that I can't bring my bike to the states. I talked to Matt and he said it is next to imposible to get a European bike to match US specs. I need to sell it before I leave Holland. I just got it and am in love with it but I can't take it with me. I'm leaving in 2004 so I'm in no real hurry. Just trying to put a feeler out to see if anyone is interested. I have all the documentation from MV stating that is one of two prototype SPR's built. Let me know if anyone is interested. If not I'll take it back to the dealer and put it on consinement. Looks like I need to get on the list for a SPR back in the states.

Depending on which state you live in here in the USA, the local DMV may not ask for anything more than a MSO from MV AGusta which states the origin of manufacturing and the 17 digit VIN as well as the engine number. Your chances are 50/50 that you may get a title for it in that state....OR the lien sale opportunity might get you a "replacement" title but could take a few months depending on the local rules or regulations in that county. I assume you can bring it back via military transport as "household goods" correct? That way the port authorities don't tie it up in customs like they would for the general public! Take full advantage of the "military" privledge that you've earned!

Here in Michigan, a friend took is Ducati from Europe , Same thing they told him he could not, then he found out, the only difference was a bunch of stickers..In fact it is the importateur who push for this law, they loose too much business (remember the "grey market back in the 70's and 80's. they stop it all, under the pressure of Mercedes, Bmw,...)

back to my friend, I did right few bill of sale for parts, then he went and got a title as "assembled bike"...

Doesn't the military get special treatment when bringing their overseas car home?

www.mvagusta.com has request forms for the 2003 models.

Plus I don't think the SPR decal kit deserves a premium. The letter you received was written by a local dealer, and not MV Agusta SPA. At most it's a 2000 F4 Strada with some decals. Nevertheless, it's still a beatiful bike. Good luck.
