Since no one had mentioned it yet, I thought I would.........

Don't forget that Advent started on Sunday. This is a penitential season, much like Lent. The Christmas Novena started on November 30 as well. Don' forget your Advent candles and prayers. Let's prepare ourselves for the coming of Christ, so that we may be worthy.

Yes, I most heartily agree! Celebrate Christmas starting the night of the 24th, and celebrate it then for 12+days! Don't party, put up lights, eat loads of candy and cookies, until then! It annoys me to now end to see not only secular groups but Catholic churches having Christmas parties the first week of Advent! Light that Advent wreath, and stick a violet ribbon on your door (rose for the third Sunday).
