As an Anime lover what do you think is the advantages and disadvantages of watching too much anime?

i think the advantages are you dont have to watch american's shitty cartoons. Disadvantages are you might turn into a anime freak or a anime nerd.

The advantages? That's simple. If you watch anime your cool, well if you watch cool anime like Inuyasha and Sailor Moon and Kare Kano and YYH but this doesn't aplly to those who watch Gundam or other gay animes. But didadvantages? There aren't any! Animes the best! My life practically revoles around anime and I'm proud of it!

Supergirl is right! There are no disadvantages! The only way is if you make it and there is no such thing as an anime nerd! Anime is growing over here in the US. Maybe there is one disadvantage for me and that is I'm stuck in the US and I can't go to Japan. Well, some day I'll go.

Yeah the only real dissadvantage is that its so f***** hard to find and when you do find it its usually pricey which can make a fan very depressed. :(

i think the disadvantage of anime is that some children might imitate the "dangerous content or stunts" in the series. for example, the character in the series jumped over a high building, and the kid who is watching such anime is just four or less, there is always a possibility that without proper guidance, the child might imitate such "stunt". it may be far different from the original, but it is still a dangerous imitation. however, the advantage of an anime is that thousands of people of different ages, gender, and generation, can appreciate the art of japanese drawing and modern literature.

I don't really agree on the last one. Why would a young child be more likely to imitate an anime character than superman or bugs bunny (even though almost any anime character is more convincing.) Anywayz, i'd say that anime can get your mind thinking like no other animated or tv thing can, except maybe some live action movies. In otherwords, anime is just like a big picture book in a way, allowing your mind to roam free unlike a looney toon that gives is just the same thing re done over and over. The disadvantages are definetly the money loss involved, and the knowledge that america is dpriving you by cutting things. If i want to buy eretzvaju, i have to buy it from hong kong, so there's a pretty penny there. All in all i'd say anime has done me good in the last few years, and i don't think i could stop if i wanted too! ^_^
