Yes, I think it started to happen after I installed Quick Time. When I first got my computer it started to act up so I uninstalled the official DivX codec and then I installed an illegal. So it could be either or. Unfortunately I may have to use my restore disc and delete everything on my HD. Please if you can find a way around this. ;-) thanx

A cyclic redundancy check is basically a mathematical test run by your computer to check for errors in what should be a perfect mathematical algorithm. Unfortunately, if there are any errors in the data then this algorithm gets messed up and your computer can't join the frames of a movie file for instance. There is a number of areas where the fault could have occured - during the conversion process from vob to divx for example, or, most commonly, a bad burn.I know of one way to fix the problem, but it will be a slow and painful process! You can use microsoft moviemaker to copy every frame you have and then join them all up again - obviously you might lose some frames. Unfortunately this takes a long time, but it won't drive you half as mad as re-starting a movie several times through.
