I Remember You (last stanza), Johnny Mercer 1942When my life is through
And the angels ask me to recall
The thrill of them all
Then I shall tell them "I remember, you"
I was driving home tonite from my usual Wednesday nite-out with 2 old pals. I chanced to catch this classic tune, sung by the mature Rosie Clooney. Such a fine song, such a crafted singer. The final stanza nails it for me.
I think Life is a gift, a strange, weird gift full of pain and struggle but also (if well lived) full of thrills. I hope that everyone has had a few thrills and will have a few more. I hope that you have taught your kids that it is important to be thrilled.
I have no question here. I'm not asking what your thrills are. Just wishing you some.

Lars, I remember a statement from a book about life's moments (thrills) being like pearls. Some people just have one or two, others have multi-strand, waist length necklaces full. I hope your life is full of moments, too.

How does that saying go... don't measure your life by how many breaths you take, measure it by the moments that take your breath away.Wishing all of you "moments that take your breath away". Or in "Lars- speak", THRILLS! :-)

Ok ... we're talking happy thrills, right?

I used the word "thrill" because it was the word used in the song. I'd only qualify it to exclude cheap thrills.

Same wish to you Lars.PS I remember an early version of that song, sung by a male, and yes I am that old.
