Let us pray for our poor brothers and sisters in Iraq

Hello,

As a fellow Roman Catholic, I cant help but think about the poor innocent Iraqi civilians who are suffering and dying at this very moment as a result of this so-called just war.

These recent events make me reflect on a beautiful passage I read this morning in the book of Romans. St Paul says: (Romans 12:15-21) “Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty of mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation. Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Never take your own revenge , beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY SAYS THE LORD.” But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals upon his head.” Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil by good.” Let us please say a special prayer (if possible five decades of a Rosary) for all the poor innocent Iraqi women, children, and men who are (and will be) suffering and dying as a result of these U.S lead attacks; for they are all our brothers and sisters.

Our Lady of Fatima, please pray for us! God bless,

Robert P

Robert, a friend of mine, a priest, told me once that he knew some Iraqis christians. I remember that he admired their knowledge of the Bible. I pray for them and I'm sure we Americans will pay dearly for this enormous mistake of our leaders...

Yes. pray for the innocent Iraq people, and also for our service people. Many homes will be in sorrow even now. May they all have died in God's grace.

Thank God, so far only a small number of casualties. Most of the army's efforts seem to be directed at Hussein & his sons - let's pray they get them and not the innocents.

Are you really so naive,Christine, as you sound? A war without innocent casualties has never, never been fought! You can also pray for an ocean without water...

May God protect the innocents who are living through the horrors of war.

May He console the sorrowing.

And through His infinite mercy, may the hearts of those whose hatred of their fellow men have brought about much earthly suffering, be converted before that day when they must face their Just Judge.

Lord, have mercy on us.

Pax Christi.
