I've made partial progress in regards to my previous question about decals for HO scale streamline passenger cars. After Hour Graphics is still in business and has a nice selection of decals for Southern streamline passenger cars.

But ...

I'm modeling cars as they appeared in the late 1960s. By this time, the car names -- which After Hours Graphics ably supplies -- were supplemented by car numbers in small lettering in the upper corners of the cars -- on each end of the letter board. The AHG decals don't include these numbers. Chip Coburn at AHG has offered to produce these decals, but I promised him I'd check first to see if there's another source. I've checked the Microscale web site, and nothing helpful is listed under Southern Railway.

Does anyone know whether the Champ decals have these numbers? I'd guess they're about 3 to 4 inches tall in the Art Deco style consistent with the rest of the paint scheme. Perhaps another railroad (PRR or FEC?) had similar numerals with which someone's familiar.

As a reference, I offer James Kinkaid's excellent "Southern Railway Color Guide to Freight & Passenger Equipment", pages 28 to 31.

As a possible solution to the small numbers, take a look at the Microscale Railroad Gothic decal set in black. The set includes some very small numbers in this style, but each number set would have to be pieced together.
