Greetings and Peace from the 1,000 Years of Peace project!

You are receiving this e-mail because you made a peace pledge and checked the box requesting that we keep you posted on our progress towards 1,000 years of peace pledges.

Many of you are new to this project, some as recent as the outbreak of war in Iraq. Others have been part of the effort since its beginnings in late 1999. Whatever the circumstances, we can all agree that our fractured world is in need of peace more than ever.

We're happy to report that as of late March 2003, we have received peace pledges from about 8,700 people totaling almost 1.5 million hours of peace! This is far short of our lofty goal of 1,000 years (equaling 8,766,000 hours), but our commitment to the project continues, as does our desire to inform as many people as possible about the effort.

We are grateful for your support and for your pledge at www.pledgepeace.org. We welcome your help in spreading the news about the 1,000 Years of Peace project to friends and family, schools, churches or even to your local news media.

Meanwhile, we welcome new or renewed pledges of time. We'll be happy to hear from you by email. We promise to read everything that comes in but may not be able to reply personally to everyone.
