Green Everywhere.

More Sunshine each day,

the calendar says it's Spring,

lush green carpeting.

Two-lips without lips,

popping up out of the ground,

Marie is happy.

Well, it snowed here yesterday and today. When I woke up both days, it was -10C. We get spring in May (if we're lucky!)

Hint: It's April!

You're 'posed to be gettin' warmer!

Yes, it is Spring now,

Rain washes the wind-swept air,

smells of the damp Earth.

Still mild here in Oz

Some rain would be most welcome

Just an inch would do.

Oh that was so hard and it still doesn't sound right.

I hope you are all getting some nice Spring weather. Autumn has been kind to us so far.

Tricia you deserve the best Summer on the planet if that's what Spring is like up there.

Winter's lingering

Slowly melting into Spring

Like the wicked witch ;-)

Gaaaaack!

4600 (plus) count today.

It rained a little bit yesterday, and the rain was green by the time the drops hit the windshield!

Carol, that was a great haiku! You did good!

Tricia, I know you all need moisture, so I guess the snow was welcome?

Handing Robert some Claritin. ;-)

Rob, glad to hear that Marie is happy. :-) Tulips are coming up in New Jersey? Wow! It's much colder in Tulsa this morning. We got a nasty thunderstorm that is headed northeast.

I just got back from Tyler last night. Crystal had an emergency appendectomy, but she's doing really well. It's always something! LOL!

-- Gayla (privacy@please.com), April 06, 2003.

Gayla, I'm so glad that Crystal's okay! Sorry to hear about your weather. We are glad for moisture, we've had quite alot of snow this year, but much of it is very powdery which won't yield much water. Still, the farmers say as long as we have a slow melt, the snow pack will help.

Robert, you need to come north for awhile... just bring some warm clothes!

.

Still needing haiku?

I would love to oblige you

I've nothing to say.

Haichu!

-- Robert A. Cook, PE (wondering@whats.Lonupto), April 09, 2003.

Thanks Gayla. I find the haiku very hard as the rhythm seems very foreign to me. I'm assuming Crystal is your daughter and hope she is mending well. I've just got back from the city too and while I was there I thought of you when I had to use the elevator. The town I live in is so small we haven't got a building tall enough to need a lift.

Tricia perhaps you'd better try another weather haiku. It worked for me. We've just had 13mm (about 1/2") of nice steady rain. I like your "Slowly melting into Spring".

Robert I hope you get some more rain to settle all that pollen down. That pollen count sounds merciless.

Rob, your Spring haiku is beautiful, it makes me feel like going out and planting more bulbs. We just had our first Easter Lily.

-- Carol (c@v.busy.com), April 09, 2003.

Yes, Carol, Crystal is my daughter and she's recovering very nicely. Thanks! So, you're saying it's a lift if it's in a tall building, but an elevator if it's only a few floors? How come?

-- Gayla (privacy@please.com), April 12, 2003.

LOL no Gayla, we call them both over here. I just meant our town is so small we don't need one. The Aussie language is a mixture of English, pure OZ eg. "G/day Mate" and Americanisms such as "fries" instead of "chips". That means we have fries with a hamburger, but chips with fish and nobody's quite sure whether to call "crisps" chips or crisps. We're a pretty mixed up breed aren't we?

I'm glad Crystal is doing well. Kids have a way of bouncing back fairly quickly which is a blessing as nothing is more of a worry than a sick child. My kids are all grown up, but I still worry about them. I guess we're all the same. My Mum is 80yrs and she still worries about me.

Good grief! A surgery in the family!

(((Gayla)))

Hope she recovers. Everybody here getting over colds from last week.

Tom's officially out of Air Force boot camp, we saw his graduation Friday. On duty now at the first airframe school.

(Duck and cover! The next C-5 flying over your head might have been put together by him.)
