Just because an idiot named Osama Bin Laden and his followers MAY HAVE had something to do with the "terrorist" attacks does not mean we should blame the whole country of Afghanistan. We should blame the lost people who follow these crazy people because they had no direction in their lame lives. Punish the person(s) responsible not the citizens or Afghanistan as a whole

The people responsible have been punished! The Taliban have been driven from power and Al Qaeda is on the run. As for the people of Afghanistan, they now enjoy more liberty than at any time in recent history. And international aid has been flowing in to help feed their people, provide medical care, and rebuild a country in dire straights. I am missing the point - how have the citizens of Afghanistan been punished? And by the way, to hold out doubt that Osama and his followers were not responsible for 9/11 is ridiculous.

My direct impulse at first when it happened was to carpet bomb the entire country. That was based on shock and anger. Thank God cooler minds prevail. The argument of the thread is seemingly an old one for sure. History has shown us this is a new platform of war. Discreet and very sneaky. The CIA have been doing this for years all over the world training these types of men and women.
In short the hen has come home to roost.

Jean,There is a HUGE difference between covert, CIA actions and terrorism. The latter is almost always directed at innocent civilians (including children) and has the express purpose of instilling fear.
No roosting here, sorry, beg to differ!
