I have been contemplating, evaluating, and praying about some of the recent threads that became rather heated and personal.I have wrongfully allowed myself to get caught up in the heat of battle and I have written things I should not have. For this, I ask your forgiveness. If I have offended anyone directly or indirectly, I am sorry.
Some people come to this forum looking for answers. I am one of them. I consider myself a serious student of the Church and teachings. My opinions on some subjects have changed with time. Knowledge is golden.
I have learned from all the posts, especially, those from the regulars.
I believe that the Church, has been plagued throughtout it's history by periods of bad theology and bad politics. I believe it still is. I believe, given time, the Church will correct itself.
I believe with all my heart Vatican II was driven by the Holy Spirit.
I am by no means stereotypically liberal. I am progressive and believe the Church could be more progressive and future minded and still be true to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
I challenge all Catholics who post to remember the seeker who never posts but always reads. May our love shine forth.
I believe the Chuch can be progressive without being "lenient".
A quote comes to mind: "In everyday life one often hears people say: the Church could be more lenient; it could accept a few minor concessions...Never! The Pope can be kind and patient as much as you want; but, given the deplorable realities and the unacceptable ommissions, his attitude will be, cost what it may, solid, clear, and unchangeable out of obedience to and respect for the faith".
Some will be surprised by the source: Angelo Guiseppe Roncalli. Pope John XXIII. God bless,

John - I for one have never found you offensive. WE are all allowed our opinions feelings hopes and desires in this world as Christians.

Hi.I believe that if we were to discuss or argue issues on a face to face forum, we'd all go out for pizza and sodas afterward. Our questions and answers can be sensitive and even offensive at times, but our true character is truly respected by all (for the most part).
(Ok maybe not pizza and sodas, how about fajitas and limonada?)
