I think that they are both pretty good. However, I have to say that I like DBZ more just because it has a continuing plot throughout each episode. In YYH it just goes from 1 2-5 episode fight to the next over and over again without any real plot. Both shows have great fighting though.

Yu Yu Hakusho. DBZ is alright, put the story is to long. sure, that means u can miss an episode and not be blown ot of the water, but after a while of the same damn shit again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again, it gets pretty boring and you stop to care. In my opinion, both shows are equally entertaining as far as plot and character development are concerned. However, even though my favorite T.V. show of all time is Yu Yu Hakusho (with DBZ a very close second), I do feel that Dragonball Z draws you in and gets you pumped up when a big event is approaching/occurring (for example: when Goku uses the Spirit Bomb on Bad Majin-Buu and finally defeats him, you get excited and become relieved; another example is when Goku kills Frieza you get excited and can finally stop holding your breath) a wee bit more than Yu Yu Hakusho does (although, I got pretty pumped and excited when Hei used the Dragon of the Darkness Flame technique in the Dark Tournament). Otherwise, the shows balance eachother out and I honestly and truly believe that this equality can be mathematically proven to be correct... In other words, I like the emotions that you feel when watching Yu Yu Hakusho just as much as I like how Dragonball Z gets you pumped up for events in the show.

Dragonballz. It has a better story and much better drawing. I mean anyone can tell Dbz has better drawing than Yu Yu Hakusho...And the stories are pretty good...like the story of Goku & Vegeta (Rival story) and Goku losing his memory...Gohan turning Piccolo nice..Also, Dbz has better music! I mean Yu Yu Hakusho isnt bad but its not exactly my favorite show...everyones paired up there! And actually I dont like it how they say the attacks out loud...it makes them look stupid! i would say dragonball z but yu yu hakusho sneaks up in front of it by a little bit. Dragonball z doesn't have a big plot/story, its just "random bad guy that for no apparent reason wants to take over the world or destroy it" and the battles are so streched out you lose faith in when its going to end and when it does your so streched out you barely feel for the vitory. Yu yu hakusho on the other hand has the characters doing something different almost every episode. Don't get me wrong though, i love dragonball z! Super sayians are the best but so are demons ^^*...its hard to choose which is better

Yu Yu Hakusho is better for a numerous amount of reasons.

Lets start with DBZ's story shall we? It begins with revealing a new enemy, and for 10 episodes they fight. This fight uses the same footage again and again (something that Yu Yu doesn't). After the fight is (finally) over, they regroup and train for 50 episodes, talk about nothing important and finally combat their rival, and win, not too entertaining.

Yu Yu starts by introducing the cast of characters, not the enemy, and the whole spirit world. Then, it goes into minimal plotlones to make sure the watcher/reader fully understands the happenings of the worlds, and how they function. After that, they get into the meat, and along the way there are more twists and turns than dumbass DBZ characters.

Personaly I like YU YU Hakusho Better than DBZ. YU YU Hakusho is alot better with thier caracters than DBZ. IN DBZ always Goku beats the bad guys but in YU YU Hakusho everybody has thier share. Yu Yu Hakusho. It's not as predictable as DBZ. After GOku trains and acheives another level of strength and saves the world for the millionth time, it gets old. Yu Yu has plot twists and little wrinkles and vagaries not present in DBZ.

Well, im sort of with you. DBZ and Yu Yu Hakusho are both very good shows, but there is one place where Yu Yu Hakusho is better: humor. I have always loved both shows, but i could never get my friends to like the srait fighting in DBZ. but they ADORE Yu Yu Hakusho because it's not just action, it's funny, it has luvible caracters, and has more of a realistic aspect about it. dbz sucks ass crack I waited almost the hole fuckin summer to see if the z fighters defeated cell and the people who want to watch all that bull shit must have no have no lives. I don't even have to hesitate to answer this one. Yu Yu Hakasho has some fairly cool characters and some exotic attacks, but Dragonball Z surpasses anything the characters in Yu Yu Hakasho could acheive. They are weaklings compared to the saiya-jin race. I doubt it would be much of a fair match for Goku or Vegeta to face Yusuke or Togoro. While Togoro has the power to regenerate like for example Majin Buu, his inability to use energy attacks or exceed the amount of power he has at 100% proves his weakness. But this is not necessarily a choice to be decided by which show has the greater characters. The awesome battles and levels achieved by Dragonball Z proves its strength. There is always a possibility in this show that the evil could prevail that sometimes makes the show more exciting. The fact that one enemy actually did succeed in the popular threat of destroying the Earth makes it unpredictable. So my answer will always stand that Dragonball/Z/GT will ALWAYS be the best show that ever entered the lives of Children and Adults on this planet.

pffff i like them both but YYH is better in my opinion. i dont like dbz just for one reason its too long. I mean the enemy comes to earth trying to take over the world or destroy it I dont care. But when they fight the enemies,theytend to get a lot more powerful than the main characters. and this will go on for 40 or 30 episodes about the enemy killing and becoming even more powerful once the main character is done its training.... Plus in DBZ they show u how they train and gets pretty boring after 2 episodes of them training. I mean in YHH when Yusuke is about to enter the Dark Tornement> You dont see episodes were they show u there training, they just get right into the action no waiting for his training. Altho YYH has some training. I think about 7 episodes worth and they are far more entertaining training episodes than DBZ. In DBZ u see people training and it gets boring. See in YHH (spoilers) Episodes 90-99 or 100 Yusuke,Hihe,Kurama Are in the Demon world and guess what there enemies,why because 3 powerful leaders from the Demon world wanted them to join. Raisen/Yusuke's dad.Youmi wants Kurama. Muroko wants Hihe. Also, YHH is kinda unpridictable I mean U no In DBZ that goku or the other fighters has to win. In YHH well im not going to tell or it will spoil the moments of people that havent seen beyond the End of the Dark Tornement. ALso i like DBGT better cause its short,funny,no training they either find a way to win or die. I don't see how the fighting in YYH is better than Dbz. The fighting in YYH sucks. It'd be worse if it didn't have those special effects to show more entertain. You don't actually see they hit each other very often but in dbz you do. Dbz sure does take the fighting for episodes but imagine in real life, it would probably take a 1 to 3 hours to fight the real bad guy but in YYH, if it only takes an episode or two to finish the bad guys then that means they are not worth a challenge to Dbz gang because they're weaklings.

In DBZ, their just fighting to save the world or Namek or something. In YYH, they fight to live or have to earn something. And in DBZ, they take half the show just to power up and go "AAAAHHH GRAAAAAHHH AHHHH HYAAAAA!!!!!". Maybe in YYH just 10 seconds or so. HOW COULD YU PEOPLE SAY THAT HIEI IS A COPY OF VEGETA???!!! GRR! AROUUU! Lets see 5 reasons why Hiei is NOT a copy of *pah* vegeta: 1. Hiei has A WHITE STARBURST (vegetas hair looks like black bananas) 2. Hiei's muscles arent too big for his skin/body. 3. Hiei's feet arent pointed like this (V). 4. Hiei, is a fire demon, MUCH more powerful that vegeta. 5. Vegeta is a saiyan prince and Hiei is NOT yur everyday normal demon, but not a PRINCE! (by the way, raizen is NOT yusuke's dad.)

Everyone of you people are blind to the truth. In reality DBZ is old, almost everyone has seen it. Each episode of that series is just a repeat of an older format of the older episodes. So in other words, each of you can determine the outcome of every single episode, unless you have a disfunctional brain. On the other hand, YYH actually uses different formats for almost every episode, plus there is some actual thought to the series. So, not every episode is just punching and kicking each other until the other one dies. Plus, YYH uses more of a tactical approach in thought, because its not always the same old slew of punches and enrgy blasts every single fight. In truth YYH is for more intelligent viewers, not crude morons that like to watch pretty explosions, fountains of blood coming from the natural enemy, or those people who like to see the same old energy blasts used again and again with different names.I only speak the truth, I'm sorry if it's not to your liking.

Dragonballz is way better than yyh first it has better character designs and in yyh all they fight are demons almost every anime has something to do with demons and that gets really old. I think Yu Yu Hakusho is way better than DBZ. I use to like DBZ but it got old to fast. The fighting takes way to much time. I'd sit there thinking that tommorow would bring the next good battle but it never did. It takes forever. Yu Yu Hakusho has great battles in less amount of time and the plot is way cool. Reading about half of all of this REALLY pissed me off. Why do we bicker about this? Why dont we just say what we want with out saying "DBZ sucks!" or "YYH sucks!" it makes the people READING thsi stuff PISSED! Try saying something similar to what others say like what I will say now. Yu Yu has a good plot. It doesnt have straight fighting like DBZ, it also has caracters who arent really like how they look and act. Take Yusuke for example. He looks like a tough ass fighter who doesnt give a shit about people. But, thats where your wrong. Int he begining he was like that, but when he saved that kids liffe and died, you see his inner strength shine through. And Hiei, the guy who kicks ass and seems to hate the world. But put Yukina in danger and you see that he's a caring brother. YYH may be short, but it doesnt linger in the same spot like DBZ. YYH is straight to the point. Now for DBZ, while yes, they tend to drag things out for a rather long while and it doesnt get annoying and frustraiting, but they have a tendency to make it so intence, that you find your self holding your breath when that fatal blow is giving and the caracter (mostly Goku) comes out the victor. Yes, I must admit,it does get annyoing, but think, if they actually ever failed, their world would be tken under control or destroyed. DBZ has different animation, while the caracters are more or less bulkey and if were human, be pretty slow, the fact that they can FLY and turn into Super Saians, is pretty cool. I dont have a favorite. I just cant choose! Its either young Gohan or Kurama! I JUST CANT CHOOSE!

Yea, i agree with IX. he said the creators like yoshihiro togashi worked hard to come up with an anime like Yu Yu Hakusho. and I'd say its better and whoever said the episodes after toguro vs yusuke are like dbz, you need to see the makai tournament and the end. i mean they acctually have a last episode at a reasonable number, 112. no arguments, kay? ^^ ;D

yyh sucks it is a ripp of dbz/gt don't like the story line at all the charcters are all lame all they ever fight are demons that get's old very fast. YYH may be more popular than dbz but only because these girls are saying that yyh boys look good and crap. Dragonballz may be over on tv but people still like it they even make fan characters and fan manga's I don't see people doing that for yyh also yyh characters can never beat dbz characters not ever saiyans are way stronger than dumb demons will ever be.

Also trigun does not suck vash is a well developed character I love his angel arms. Another thing is that yyh is well dub in english dbz is not the original japanese versions of dbz are way better than the english becasue they actually explain how they do there moves and it is more bloody and violent unlke the english version. YYh fights are to simulated and boring it does'nt get me pumped up like dbz does for dbz fans the dragoballaf manga is out in english I read it is was ver good the art was done by Aaron vargas visit his home page and read the manga that he made good stuff.

I mean i love Yu Yu also, and you can sit there and compare who has the better plots, fights, animation, or who as the cuter guys, but in the end there is just something about DBZ that kicks major ass in the anime world, something that yu yu doesnt have. DBZ sucks ass. It's true at one time it kicked ass, but that was before I saw YYH. YYH practically gives the plot before it happens, but when it reaches that point you're still amazed how it came out. DBZ just has a go-with-the-flow kinda plot, which sucks a lot. In the humor area YYH kicks DBZ's ass again. No where in DBZ is there a character who thinks he's #1 and then gets his ass kicked and still thinks he's #1. DBZ is kinda like the humor-here-and-there-as-we-can- fit-it-in type thing. Overall YYH kicks DBZ's ass and all the people who thinks that DBZ kicks ass.

You are all mad. I mean hands down yu yu hakusho is the best and you should heed to that. The fight scenes in YYH are so much more insanly awesome and contain soo much more blood, gore, and balistic attacks. DBZ has attacks with no meaning to them at all, i mean what the hell is a "kammie hammie haa" thing. Some one explaine to me this. Oh i almost forgot, Vageta is such a hei wannabe. You know, DBZ was the first Anime I've ever seen. But I saw YYH for the first time a year ago. Jesus Christ. YYH simpily took DBZ by the head and ATE IT! Thats right, ate it. Basicly, DBZ characters are the same exept for their personalities. However, YYH has special techniques, fighting styles, and better personalities. Hiei is a badass. Though Vageta is still cool, hes balding though... Yusuke is alot cooler than Goku, and am I the only one who is seeing somthing familier? "Snap, some one is taking over the world! But wait! The reason I like YYH vs. DBZ is because YYH is like saying you can be a little guy who no one ever thought much of and still kick butt. I guess thats why DBZ has never really been a fav. of mine. Goku is this big, bulging, muslcely guy,who ALWAYS saves the day, and if a scrawnier guy tries he gets his butt kicked! I personally like the idea of like YYH, Ronin Warriors, Gundam Wing where it shows these scrawny kids still in high school or jr. high, who are the outcasts and no one thinks will amount to anything and they end up the ones saving the world! Even other characters are stunned, like when Heero Yuy stepped out of his gundam to self destruct for the colonies and everyone is like "But hes just a kid!" to me thats cool and I'd rather see that vs a bunch of guys that look like they spend to much time in the gym.

I believe both are great shows, but America seems to overplay DBZ. Toonami focuses and hour to the DB series, and cancelled YYH after only a few months. I personally would prefer to watch YYH then DBZ because i know exactly what happens in DBZ. They've played it over and over and over, so the plot is stuck in my mind.

Yes, we are still arguing, and yes YuYU is WAY better. A sterotypical macho man saving the world, while preaching to the bad guy like your father is boring. No offense to the artist and people work hard on that particular anime (DBZ) but they use the same plot over and over, its so predictable, the world is threatened by an evil villian from another planet, they good guys train forever, they fight get their butts kicked, then Goku comes back from where ever he was and saves the day...AGAIN! and you can't deny that thats not what happens in every episode. YuYu's cool, Jin made you feel bad for the enemy, Genki is the funniest rude old lady ever, Botan being the grim reeper is funny, and the dedication is awsome, so whatever your taste, thats fine with me, but come to think of it we should shut up and get along, we're all anime fans here! lets argue with the non-anime fans! and beat 'em over the head whenever they call it "cartoons"!
