Someone told me Jungle wa Itsumo was hilarious, I watched it and barely even cracked a smile. Honestly, I need a laugh. I need lots of laughs and apart from Ranma and a few moments in Naruto, no anime has really cracked me up. So the question is: what's the funniest anime you've watched and why would you recommend it?

Hmm, okay one or two scenes from Fushigi Yuugi were quite amusing. I haven't watched Love Hina but I've read the manga. One or two scenes made me smile but nothing was really funny.

Yes, I like Love Hina a lot, too. I'm not sure about the manga, but the anime made me crack more than just a few smiles. The poor guy... Fruits Basket is another "Light-hearted comedy" that I enjoy. Or even I, My, Me, Strawberry Eggs... i just remembered that one. The opening scene involves: an old lady with a gun, and a huge mirror. It was great. Good luck finding one that you like!

Hehe... Love Hina is great. There were some parts funnier in the manga than the anime, but the same goes for the anime too. Also, there are Excel Saga, Azumanga Daioh, and Ranma 1/2. Certain parts in those are very funny.

Umm...I think that some funny animes include : Doraemon (the 1st anime I've ever watched), Ranma 1/2, Inu Yasha, Love Hina, Fushigi Yuugi, Fruit Basket (I only watch the first few eps of this, so not sure about the later part), pretear, ah megami sama,...and sailor moon. Those are quite girlish but they're good.

Besides the first eps of Naruto and the Ranma 1/2 series, Dragon Half is the most hilarious show I´ve ever seen. Else I´d recommend Siawase Apartment's Okojo-san, Ikteru Futari, Galaxy Angels II, Star Ocean EX and the wired Kogepan and Dnupu for lots of laughs. If you like random anime watch the Excel Saga and Elf Princess Rane. Not the most hilarious ones but very good for relaxing are PitaTen and Galaxy Fraulein Yuna.

id recommend love hina, or alternatively, the original dragonball series - i always had a good laugh when i watched this. also, stuff like rurouni kenshin has some quite hilarious moments outside of the serious battles.

shin chan is very funny (though the english dubbing isnt that great in my opinion).

the last one that comes to mind is great teacher onizuka. its quite twisted humour in the way he beats the crap out of his students, and falls 5 stories on to a car, but it's all done in a way which is funny, and even more surprisingly, relevant to the storyline.

Kodomo no Omocha (Child's Play, i believe) is HUGE, BIIIIIG funny! You can download it or now they've started to bring to America via comic books. Excel Saga and KareKano are way funny too. Lets see, funny animes. They are Trigun, Fruits Basket, Inu-Yasha has its moments, Fushigi Yuugi, Eva(little comedy but when it comes up its pretty amusing), Kenshin, Outlaw Star, Yu Yu Hakusho, Excel Saga( thought the comedey takes a little thinking), Generator Gawl is quite pleasing, Blue Seed is okay, and..... I watched episodes 1 and 2 of Excel Saga. The first one was really really funny, the second was amusing but not quite as funny. It's a good series but a bit hyper, definitely good for a laugh or two. I know I said it before I just want to stress how importante it is to watch Golden Boy and Photon they are seldomly written about and I think they are the funniest of all time Furi Kuri is just extremly wierd and has its strange but really funny moments. Photon you cant watch all in one shot or else it loses its humor. But Goden Boy is by far better than Bakuretsu Hunters, Rounin Kenshin (comical parts), Chobits (blown out of the water), Excel Saga (left in the dust), Saiyuki Maden (is not funny but ok, and even though it is not ment to be a comedy the king of all animes is Sword of Truth. Yes I know it is the dumbest anime of all time but what other anime can you watch that is this bad and can compare its self to Ninja Scroll. The anime is should have been a comedy since he kills every thing including dead things with the same attack and the Akido fighters eyebrows are funny as all hell lol. Ummmmmm ok well I guess that all oh and every one must watch the first OVA to Samurai X and the Last OVA to Samurai X best anime of all time (oh and watch Berserk if you want to see lots of endless killing, gore, and sex!)

Full Metal panic is funny but not Hilarious and so is the A-Ko Project they are both ok! A-Ko is old but it can make you crack a smile with some of the women looking like men and all the plans that Ako foils. Golden Boy is funny because Kintoro is a Freer a person that specializes in part time jobs he finished law school and never picked up his diploma an. The Art is simply out of this world. Ummmm I'd explain Photon but its kind of impossible (just watch it trust me).

No one hasnt said anything about Tenshi na konamaiki yet. That's really funny too when it comes deeper of the story. Also all those series what other ppl recommented are good too.. Yah, I tried some of the suggestions here. I don't like ecchi stuff, so Chobits and Golden Boy really pissed me off instead of amusing me. But the Kodocha manga is hella funny, highly recommended. Heck, I might even buy the english version if TokyoPop does a good job. Slam Dunk is really funny as well, at least in the earlier volumes. I've read up to 21, waiting for Tensai Manga to get the job done. Hurry up, slugs!! *cracks whip*
