WE WOULD LIKE TO COME TO IRELAND IN MID OCTOBER AND WONDER WHAT THE WEATHER IS LIKE AND HOPING THINGS ARE SILL OPEN IN THE COUNTRYSIDE
-- RAY BROWER (RBROWER@CFL.RR.COM), April 14, 2003
You can be real lucky and get weather so mild that you get away with a sweater. You can be really unlucky and get it raining and miserable all the time.It is even possible that it will be really cold but this has not been our experience for the last while. The countryside usually looks a little bleak and naked but some people like it that way,I prefer the Spring myself. Depending on what your interests are things generally stay open all year round. Theaters will still be showing, cinemas, restaurants still on the go. Out on the West and South coast some of the smaller towns that depend solely on tourists have a definite "season" and batten down the hatches, somewhat, for the winter. Prices are generally far more favourable at this time and if you hunt around you can get some really outstanding deals. Tryand but be prepared to be swamped. I came across a great website for Donegal as well but I cannot remember it. Regards, Ken Lyons.
