Inuyasha is a romantic comedy based around a high school girl (Kagomae) and a half-demon boy named Inuyasha. Kagomae possesses a jewel called the Shikon no Tama (jewel of four souls) that makes demons stronger. While trying to recover the jewel from a demon, Kagomae accidentally shatters it sending the pieces all over the countryside. This sets the adventure in motion. Now Kagomae and Inuyasha must search for the missing shards of the Shikon no Tama. Along the way they find new friends along with new enemies.

That's a basic idea of what the series is about. Although the story starts in modern day Japan, most of it occurs in Japan's Warring States Era (about 400 years ago). The series contains very little nudity, some violence (generally not graphic, the most you usually see is blood), and there is some profanity (mostly issued by Inuyasha). At the moment there are 105 fansubbed episodes available and a movie (episodes 106+ are in the process of being subbed and the second movie hasn't been subbed yet). The series is still going in Japan and it looks like it will keep going for a while. There's no telling how many episodes there will be. Also, the series was based on the Inuyasha manga which is still going also.
