You can start here (the Smithsonian site):

I put this phrase into google.com: clothing "american indian" and that was only the top entry. You'll have a lot of fun looking through the rest of them. Don't forget to do an image search, too, so you can see what the clothes looked like.

Did you do the search using the same parameters I showed above? Are you looking for Indian-as-in-Bombay or Indian-as-in-we-have-all-the- casino-action? What period of time are you looking for? Before or after the arrival of European settlers?

I can't believe you're not finding anything. At the very least, you should be coming up with George Catlin or Edward S. Curtis.

On June 29, 1776, Father Palou wrote this account: The natives here are all well formed. Many of them have beards, others are hairless and rather ugly. They are accustomed to tear out by the roots the hair of the eyebrows, and this renders them ugly. They are poor Indians without much of a house than a hedge of branches to protect them somewhat against the high winds which prevail and which molest them very much. The men go entirely naked, except that they cover the shoulders with a sort of small cape pieced together from otter skins and pelican feathers. The women cover themselves with nothing but tules strung together around the waist.
