Peter, Anyone, I recently read that Paramount has picked up a new live action Aeon Flux script at Scriptsales.comhttp://www.scriptsales.com/ArchivesMar03.html
It's about 1/3rd down the page.
Here's the exact text...

It would be cool if some flux fans could get a walk on or minor part in this. Wonder how you find out where to audition?

And the other thread wasn't even halfway down the page. What a moron.

The live action movie of Aeon Flux will only suck to the next millinium!!! I said it before, and I'll always say it again...Hollywood needs to stick to making movies, not parodies!!! I say they got damn lucky on X-men 2. Need I remind you all of the horrid pieces of crap Hollywood calls art with "Super Mario Bros." the movie, "Double Dragon" the movie, "Tank Girl" the movie, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Wutever" the movie, "The Punisher" the movie, and the list goes on.Ok, I know it's all about making the quick buck, unfortunatly I don't think Peter would be gettin much since MTV owns it. Too bad Peter. I think all of that Hollywood crappy money should belong to you man. Now if Peter took up the throne once more to make an ANIMATED FEATURE FILM of Aeon Flux, then I would say 'god bless the project!!!' But I don't think we would be seeing that anytime in the future.
P.S: Hollywood, tell ur script writers to sit down and read a novel or a book with more than 300 pages in it for once. The books without pictures of people dressed up in costumes and capes!

...i liked The Punisher. And SMB.Then again the last time i saw either, i was 12.

There's a Punisher movie!?

Yes, an awful, low-budget one.I kind of liked Tank Girl, in a guilty-pleasure sort of way... the mix of animation, comic panels and live action was flashy and grabbed my attention. Who knows what I'd make of it now, six/seven years later...

I'm embarrassed to admit that I was a big fan of Tank Girl back in '95. The animation in it was pretty nice, and I still enjoy the original comic. But the movie kind of makes me cringe these days...1995 was a big year for me... I rediscovered Aeon Flux, found Ghost in the Shell, Tank Girl, and the Internet. Those were my obsessions of the time.

I think I read something about how Jamie Hewlet(one of the two creators) experienced some kind of irate retribution from whatever film company, for openly declaring that the Tank Girl movie sucked big time and no one should see it.

I think the best comic book movie made, still remains, The Crow. I loved that one.But christ, is there a single alright video game movie out there? Apparently, ego maniacle fools, (like whoever came up with Streetfighter the movie) consider themselves worthy of inflicting these sordid interpretations of games they obviously dont appreciate, and may not have actually played. I guess these people feel that they neednt take anything like the actual game too seriously, because "its just a game", therefor altering it in any way is all but utterly permissible. Yet I cant help but feel that better work would have resulted, had there been less attempts at originality.
Actually I remember enjoying Mortal Kombat. To bad Resident Evil didnt even have the thematic decency of any of the actual games (same director as MK).
-- Sam (janecherrington@paradise.net.nz), May 14, 2003.
ahh, I meant cinematic, not thematic.

Dibs on the Monican soldier with blue paint on his forehead.

Good video game movies? Mortal Combat 1. There was supposed to be a Warcraft movie, I think that might have been nice and epic. As for walk on parts I would like to play some kind of devient Breen that gets caught doing naughty things by the state.

Skipping back a coupla points in the thread, here... Just to mention a few more outstanding comic-based movies - From Hell and Road to Perdition showed that Hollywood can swerve off the well-beaten Marvel/DC path and come up with a gem. Men In Black was also comic-based, and was satisfactory as a popcorn-pushing vehicle. Of course, this sort of thing can also backfire - e.g. Bulletproof Monk...

i think the tomb raider movie was a bit lame. smb was good and tmnt1-3 were funny in parts. what's resident evil like? is it gory? i downloaded it from kazaa.
