I have heard a lot about streamload, and that it is really successful, but what exactly is it, and where do i get it? Also, do i have to pay for it? (hoping the answer is no..) Thanks!

Aw heck another person asking about streamload...

This is their official site: www.streamload.com You can get a freeloader account (non paying, dughghgh) or a paying account. As a freeloader you have 100 MB worth of downloads and then you either open another freeloader account and keep on downloading (which isn't very ethical) or you make it a paying account, which can be as little as $5/ month.

Go open yourself a freeloader account, go to a streamload request site (or just email me) to get some music or manga files for it, and see how you like it. I think it's a really, really, really great service.

wait, can you set up multiple accounts and download files over 100 MB?

The only thing Dorothea forgot to tell you is that as a freeloader (non-paying account holder) you can download 100 MB, but the largest single file you can download is 10 MB. In other words, you can't download any file larger than 10 MB. So you could download ten 10 MB files to get to your 100 MB limit, but you can't download one file that is 100 MB. In order to download larger files you have to create a paying account.

ok, but is streamload faster than ftp sites (which I have to use because of my 56K connection), because if it isnt, i dont see what the point of anyone downloading on Streamload is! If it isnt, you can get the exact same results from p2p programs..
