i am transfering files from my cam to pc with the cam's usb connector. yesterday i unplugged the cam from my usb hub without using the secure remove option of windows xp. now my cam keeps card erroring no matter what i'm trying. then i formatted the card with windows, which performs a FAT16 format(the field says FAT, not FAT32) and now i can use it with windows as storage drive but the cam still won't format it. but after i try to format it with my cam i have to re-format it for use with windows, so the cam actually tries formatting and writes something to the sd. i wonder if there are any SD recovery tools around or whether someone knows how these cards have to be formatted to work in particular digicams.
