Hi everyone,

I would like to know, is it possible to convert a monoposto F4 to a 1+1 just by adding the 2 seat tail and welding on the brackets for the passenger footpegs?(instead of swapping the whole subframe)I've checked out the 1+1 factory bikes, and it seems like they are pretty much the same as the mono's. I've heard the 1+1 bikes have a different(stiffer) shock, but I'm not sure if it's true.

Any insight as to what damage/possible effects this might have?

Forgot to mention, passenger use would be VERY minimal...I just want to have the option in case something comes up(i.e. emergency)

I just converted my biposto to a mono. The subframe is beefier and the biposto subframe/tail has three latch points vs. the mono's one. I'm not sure if you will have enough support for the biposto tail even if the mono subframe itself is strong enough to hold the additional weight. I would get the right subframe.

The shock appeared to be the same. It had the same part number on the first row, but the second row that appeared to be dates, was different. The ride felt exactly the same adjusted to the same number of clicks ( I still would rather have an Ohlins).

Ben, I've also just changed my 2000 F4S to a 1+1 (biposto) and the subframe is definitely beefier to support the extra weight. I also noticed the part number (800094187) is different for the rear shock of a 1+1 bike and the single seat (Strada or Oro) rear shock is 800082754.

My advice to you is at least use the correct subframe because it only takes one unexpected bump to possibly bend the single seat subframe - ouch.
