omg, i think i might actually be able to tolerate Kikaider. It isnt that bad if u ignore most of the way the charcters look, most of what they say, and the whole robot thing. The plot isnt that bad. ----I never thought id say most of the things i just said!

All things considered, I think its a very good anime. Some of the anime dubbed dialogue can be a bit cheesy, but otherwise, I like it. I can even appreciate the old school look of the 60's. At least it isn't as bad as the 1970's version of Tom and Jerry. ;D

I love the story line... that's mostly the reason I watch it... other then Inuyasha is after it, heh but It is like he is getting torn in two when I watch it. The Characters are a bit badly drawn but I can tolerate that, it's just the story line that makes my heart want to crack every night I watch it... though I hate the places they stop each night it gets annoying! they stop in the middle of good parts!

Well, look here. The reason most characters look the way they do is because it's an older anime. And blackrose, I really don't think you should judge what "true anime" is about. Something is not "true anime" by YOUR standards, but by the standards of the animators themselves. I love the way the characters look--they can portray just as much emotion and feeling as characters in any later anime. Watch the eyes, which are always a prime factor in expressing emotion in anime. But, hey, the storyline is good, the characters go deep, and the ending theme is beautiful and smooth.

All in all, Kikaider is a good anime, but the people don't. . match. I mean, some of them are drawn 'seriously' like Mitsko, and some are drawn 'comically' like that detective guy (I dunno if he really iz a detective or not, but he wears that trenchcoat thingy)

I agree that the characters dont match but I think the reason for that is to sorta let you in on their personality... take Mitsko (sp?) for instance she is drawn more seriously and sad... and of course she acts serious and sad because of her life... the detective seems more humorous and laid back in the way he is drawn... and guess what... he is... btw I love the plot and the way it is drawn... its not the worst I'v seen...

I just saw the last episode today... So upsetting... made me want to cry, though for some reason I couldn't I have barely ever been able to shed tears in my life. Never had someone that cared for me like that in my life... Not even my parents....... So sad... But well maybe I should just keep on going with my life... Or let people push me over and step on my face and chest at school like they do almost once or twice every year just because they don't want to unlink arms... never had a friendship or anything like that... wish I did though, only good friendship I have is my Computer and my own art... I go to an Art School what else would there be?

I so agree with drew and Tadillau(sorry if I spelled that wrong). Having Jiro not coming back to Mitsuko would mess it all up. And it really is stupid to stop the show when it's getting to the best part! Rurouni Kenshin does too. Most people would say that Jiro is ugly because of the way he is drawn. Who cares? I like him and that's my opinion. We are allowed to speak our minds and thats what I am about to do. Kikaider is awesome. And about Inuyasha, I admit Inuyasha is a cutie but so is Sesshomaro even if he is an evil demon without cutie ears. Who cares? I haven't seen anyone write down Sesshomaro's name yet. He is still just about as cute as Inuyasha, Hiei on Yuyu Hakusho, Kurama on yuyu hakusho, and Kenshin and Sanosuko. They are all cute. But no,all you people do is care about how good the characters are drawn. That shouldn't matter!

Truthfully, I've seen no anime better than this. (Mostly because I don't watch an anime unless I've seen the first episode or else I feel lost) But, really, the animation is original compared to the other Jap. Animes that all look the same. The character's designs relate to their personality. And, yes, tonight they're airing "Jiro meets Ichiro", then "Beautiful Enemy", then "Gill Returns" (or something similar), then it finishes with "The Fate of Pinocchio". Then the following week they'll air it all over again, only it'll be on at 12:30. Sorry, I just had to add my two cents. ...E-MAIL ME!!!

More info: The man who created Kikaider-Ishinomori Shotaro-was (was because he died) the creator of such shows as Power Rangers and Ultraman Tiga, which were aimed at a young audience, while Kikaider is aimed at an audience of...teens, I guess. Kikaider was once a live-action series, called Kikaida. It was created in the 1970s. It was a huge hit in Hawai'i.

Ishinomori Shotaro also created the anime Cyborg 009, which aired for the first time on Toonami today.

I truly love Kikaider. It is very sweet and very sad. I love the guitar music and the plot. I find Kikaider very sad and depressing. I cry every time I see it. Sadly, Jiro does not come back for Mitsuko( That's how you spell it!) and he sort of acts like he never met her. I love the drawings and I find Jiro very cute. They are drawn according to their personalities. Mitsuko is an average girl so she is drawn that way. Same thing goes for Detective Hattori and Etsuko, his assistant. So I don't find the drawings 'crappy' but I think they are very original. I, no offense, didn't like the OVA Series. It was kinda stupid and ruined the whole plot. I loved Ichiro though. He's that I-don't-care-get-out-of-my-face persona. But I saw the real ending of the Fate of Pinnochio. Cause if you didn't notice, in the ending it looks like it is cut off which left me in suspence. My god I don't see whats wrong with some. I personally, completely love the art for Kikaider. I love the way all the characters look and especially love the Jiro/Kikaider transformation scene. That ones very cool. The plot's a plus as well. I'd have to say overall to me it out beats any anime I can think of. Yes, even Ghost in the Shell. MUWAHAHA. Long like Kikaider the Animation.

I dont know what you guys are talking about, crappy art. psshh, its so original, and the movements are so fluent, unlike some anime, wich use the same scenes in a fight scene like dbz, the plot for kikaider is very deep, and yes there is a second season, but its based more on the fights, and less on the deep plots.
