I got your live-action Aeon right here...After having read (from numerous boards, not just this one) many ideal or recommended choices, I would love to see an unknown get the part. And I have just the lady.
Her name is Katherine Moennig.
She hasn't done that many projects (she is a relative newcomer), but she not only has Aeon's northern european look, ravenesque hair, beanpole body, and blue eyes, more importantly she can act. Hell, she has acting in her blood: she's Gwyneth Paltrow's cousin. And she is particularly right to play the Aeon character, in fact. She's quite young, I know, though very womanly and mature for her age. You can tell that there's something about her, and there's a lot going on behind her eyes. She's played a crossdressing college student, a murder wittness, and a lesbian hairdresser. I don't know how close or far away those are from the Monican Dominatrix... but she's my living Aeon.

One thing I have to admit, she is a chamaleon. No two pictures look the same. In some pictures she looks as innofensive as Jennifer Beals. In others she has a somewhat Latin flavor, big mouth, slanted eyes. I think that the movie will blow, though, so it doesn't matter that much who will carry the shame :).

Ricardo Dirani,I'm not looking forward to it, either. When you combine the producer, Gale Ann Hurd (the female Jerry Bruckheimer) with Girl Fight director Karyn Musama, I suspect that it will turn out to be abused for yet another feminist ego stroking. The mainstream has always and only seen the surface of Aeon.

how can you say your not looking forword to it I would think any fan would love the movie. Just think other people will learn of aeon and you would feel nastalgic watching a movie about your suposed hero.sorry if you feel I'am out of line. but I figured you would enjoy such a movie

That was sort of my point from above. Quite frankly, if it doesn't have the same artistic weight that the series has, then it's not AF. To me, AF is always about the characters, the issues, the ideas - an inseperable whole. As I see it, those filmmakers, producers, etc. who share the talents and like-mindedness with Peter are few. And those who are making THIS AF picture are not even close.slpr

ok I get it. and did you know peter has nothing to do with the movie
-- nomad (nomadphreek@aol.com), August 05, 2003.
Yeah, I know Peter has "nothing" to do with it. Of the top ten mistakes made thus far, Peter not having any part in the process is #1-9.slpr

I konw but it should be an ok flick

whats the other one
-- nomad (nomadphreek@aol.com), August 05, 2003.
Fans were divided over what medium an AF film should be: live-action or animation. I say it's not an issue of either/or. The 'other one' is the fact that I believe a feature-length, animated film should have been realized first (and then a live-action one). Since, it's only logical and because there are more benifits that way. There goes my opinionated self again. :)slpr

The Aeon movie will ruin the animated series for me.
-- Autechre fan (k_maty@hotmail.com), August 24, 2003.
I'll check out the movie but won't let it ruin anything for me. If anyone is that concerned that a live action AF movie will ruin the original series then simply don't see it!I'm sure everyone on this board will also post their opinions, so the option also exists of waiting for fairly enlightened AF fans to post their reviews about it before seeing it.
