Well...that's a tough one, I would have said it was when Gohan turned SSJ2 when fighting Cell but, quite frankly, it's as if everyone and their pet ferret says that.

So I will go with not a moment but an entire episode. I think it's episode 222 in the Japanese version and it's when Majin Vegeta fights Buu. After Goten and Trunks save him from being killed by Buu, Vegeta finally admits his love for his family and his son. Then he knocks both of the Chibis out with loving but somewhat...practical force and suicide detonates, sacrificing his life for the planet Earth. Not only is this an absolute out-of-character moment for Vegeta, it remains my favorite Z episode of all time. That is mostly because, even though I'm not a very emotional guy, the part when Vegeta is embracing Trunks and that soft music plays in the background brought a genuite tear to my eye. I experienced such an overwhelming wave of emotion, that of which NO episode of NO televison show has ever brought to me before and will probably never bring to me again. It absolutely changed the way I thought about Dragonball Z, I started to look beyond the fights and violence and search for the message, the feeling of Catharsis inherent when one of one's favorite characters makes the ultimate sacrifice: martyrdom.

you may be the only person in the world who sees dbz the way i do, everyone mainly watches it for the fights, i got kinda bored of those a long time ago. the characters and the messages in the show are really what makes it so good.....and ya, eps 222 is one of, if not the best, episodes of the series.....that why i can see why people like sessh. see it as shit...they only see the repetitive fighting

oh i forgot to mention, you (Ian K.) should watch that eps where vegeta dies (222...237 in jap) in japanese. you can get it at www.finalsayan.com or kazaa....its a lot better in jap cuz its more in depth....it hints that vegeta didnt kill himself to save the earth...but rather to prove to himself that he is the strong enough to take care of things by himself......oh and this is just my opinion but i think he was tring to immitate goku (the whole sacrificing yourself thing he did when cell was gonna blow up the earth) and since he wants goku's strength so badly, he is following what he does...this is hinted either in that eps or the one b4 when he remembered that moment in the cell games

Nandatoh, I thank you for seeing my point and looking furthur than the fights, you may like the idea that there is someone who shares your thoughts but I've spent years looking for a person who shares mine. I apologize for not knowing the real reason behind Vegeta's actions in Ep. 222 but I have never seen it in Japanese, and unless it comes with subtitles I wouldn't be able to understand much (laughs). They (Funimation) seem to make a pattern of altering all of Vegeta's great speeches, E.g. In the Saya-jin saga Vegeta gives a speech to Goku about why he is an elite Saya-jin and Goku is not, in the American version they changed it to some crap about Vegeta wanting Goku to join him. In the American version of the Furieza saga Vegeta was crying because Furieza destroyed his planet in the original it was because Furieza destroyed his pride...how was I to know they would do it again (sigh). By the way do you happen to know what that episode was called in directly translated Japanese in the Original, because the Funi version was called "The Final Atonement" (I think the name is hilarious because this show is made, in America at least, for little kids and I, of all people being 17 and having a post-college reading level, had to look up the word "Atonement" because I had never heard it before). I find that a wonderful proof of stupidity on the part of the Funimation writers, but considering what they changed Vegeta's motives to, it was really the only word that fit. yo its me again....so hey looks like you and me are the only people we know of that think the way we do (that was kind of wordy) but ya funimation is run by fuckers who purposly dumb down dbz because canidans and amiercans are full of dumbasses where japanese people have a deeper insight, thus the jap is better......but ya i highly recomend that you watch dbz in japanese...its MUCH deeper...the changes that you and me talked about barely scratch the surface, like for example when buu killed babidi; in eng it was because goku said he should, in jap it was because babidi kept on insulting him (mainly his weight problem).......www.dragonball.gr has evry single jap dbz eps in high quality ....but you have to install a program called DIRECT CONNECT then when you DL the eps it will open DC and download.......or for low quality eps go to www.finalsayan.com follow the DL instructions first or you;re screwed oh and some of the eps require a password to extract them from winzip.....the password is www.finalsayan.cjb.net

this might seem like im going through everything fast cuz ive already typed this shit out once b4 :) my feedback on your story.... i like the names of the races...they sound cool i like the over all story, species' and planet's origins appeal to me i dont think you should give all the races' history away from the very beginging, its alot to take in. when ppl start reading a story the begining should give them a taste of the story and then have the good stuff revealed later on......i dunno, some ppl may be turned off by the information over load right from the get go (that is if your plannign on publishing this ) oh i also think you should try to focus on a single race,,,probably the race that is going to be teh centre of attn during the story....so ppl could follow along easier.....like i mean you dont wanna build too much on a race that i shoved away after the intro right? or do u? who knows ? :) and im sorry but i have to say this...its a fact im sorry :< do ppl buy fan fictions? i likw your idea! i do! but wouldnt most ppl see this as someone trying to re-create dbz? if they saw it like that i think they would just stick to the original...... for example.....grand theft auto games.....thier great, and other compnaies try to copy the idea, but no one cares cuz they have gta....know what im saying? even if your idea is good. many will probably see it as a copy...sory.....i know! just change the names of teh races from saiya-jin to something else.....the youll be good to go.....remember this is mostly my opinion...sory if im harsh :< but all in all i think it has some potential

Well, cool. That's really got nothing to do with the actual story, it's just an overly long intro. on the Saiya-jin, Kalltorran, and eventual Kalltorraiya-jin. The actual story takes place in more modern times and focuses on one person. So I will send you the next part, how about right now!! And I don't think anyone actually BUYS fanfiction, I don't even know if I will even post it to the public on the net, it was originally a nagging idea in my head that I decided to start writing before it decomposed. I'm not trying to re-write DBZ, if you read the rest of the story then you will find that with the exception of a few things and of course the entire concept, it is only loosely based on DBZ. Evil Garden Gnomes are Garden Gnomes that look all innocent but really they are plotting this scheme thingymabob to take the magical Piskie (not PIXIE it's piskie) dust because when they eat it their heads inflate and they become REALLY super dooper smart!
