I am in the middle of watching Fruit's Basket. This show is incrediible. I think the story is very touching. I just wanted to ask, what do you think the reason Akito was against Hatori marrying that women. I think the reason is because he doesn't want anyone to be happy, like it's his job to enforce the curse.

I agree. It _is_ his job to enforce the curse. And, I do like this anime a whole lot! Not only is it a touching story, but the situations that these poor accursed people get into make me laugh so much that I can't stop. :o)

yeah, Akito was rather mean at times and that part about Hatori was really sad but I think he also has a sad life. Here's his info from the manga from http://www.geocities.com/ai_no_hyde/Fruits_Basket.html

Akito is the tyrannical head of the Souma clan. He is very frail and effeminate looking. Apparently, Akito's health isn't very good, so in the manga, he usually stays at home with Hatori nearby to treat him for any illness. Akito has a definite mean streak and has physically and emotionally scarred many members of the juunishi. He has a special interest in Yuki and despises Tooru. There's no info on Akito's parents.

I think the most touching scene in this anime is the part where Momiji tells the story about his mother. I think that is such a sad story. Also, whats the deal with Tohru's mother? In all the flashbacks, she is portrayed as a kind and gentle mother, but she is a leader of her own gang. I don't really understand the meaning of that. Whats the point of that?

she used to be a gang member when she was young before she met her husband, that's why Tohru's friend (the one who was also a gangster b4) respected her so much and promised to take care of Tohru after she died, because her mother had sort of helped her break away from the gang in order to lead a normal life.

which is ur favorite character. i actually like momjiii and yuki. momjii is a weird interesting and funny and girly in a weird way. i dont no but i just like him. or maybe becuz the rabbi was cute.and yuki is cute as a mouseform so it is little.
