Which anime has the best animation?

Does it really matter? Well, I guess it does, since it's called ANIME. I haven't watched too many nicely animated series yet, but I'd have to say Scrapped Princess gets my vote. The series may suck and the characters may be horrible, but the pictures are very pretty. Which is why I say the animation doesn't really matter.

It's not the animation, but the storyline that counts....well, most of the time.

If you mean the the picture, i'd say X TV has the best animation and a good storyline.

Animatrix is definitely the best animation if that counts...otherwise it is X.

any new anime movie - like animatrix. the movies have a larger budget so they can afford to spend much more on their animiation budget. it doesnt matter if the movie is shit or not

I would have to say anything by CLAMP. All of the artwork done by them is just breath-taking. Also, Rumiko Takahashi's 'InuYasha' has great artwork too. But even though Inuyasha is my favorite anime, when it comes to artwork, CLAMP has the best. Animes by CLAMP are; X, Card Captor Sakura, Clover, Magic Knight Rayearth, Chobits, and CLAMP School Detectives. I know they have done more, but those are all the ones I remember right now.
