possibly one of the most popular of all time i reckon is the gundam series, cos recently my friend went to hong kong, and read a pole about the most popular animes of all time in japan. the list was top 10, and i remember there was evangelion, gundam seed, dragonball z and he told me no.1 is this weird anime that hasnt come out in mostt other places (id definitely never heard of it).
