I seen the anime of Love Hina and I looked up the net for more info and something about the whole idea about Naru being Keitaro's promise girl just doesn't make sense.

According to all the websites I visited, Keitaro is 20 and Naru is 17.

The promise was made 15 years ago which would mean that Keitaro was 5 at the time but Naru would have been only 2 YEARS OLD! I know kids could be precosious but I seriously doubt that a 2 year old girl would take about going to Tokyo Uni or true love, I mean come on! and besides from the flashback the girl that kissed chibi Keitaro looked about the same age as he was!

IS NARU KEITARO'S ACTUAL PROMISE GIRL OR NOT?

(Not that Keitaro should just forget about Naru and start searching for the real one, at least not by the end of the series)

Although I can answer your question, I rather you find out for yourself. I mean.. if you know the story, it is not fun to read the comic anymore! One element in Love Hina is the TWISTING STORYLINE!

Read the manga, it's way better than the manga. It's set up differently and better. It also give you alot more information on the promised girl and you will feel very satisfied in the end. They actually got together sometime during the manga. And the story actually goes on while they are together. Unlike the anime when they finally got together, its over.

well yes naru is indeed the chosen one.you actually find that out in the manga not the series.the last few pages of the last volume(14).i am 100% sure.

i think in the OVA, it's quite obvious that she's the one, even tho they never confirm outright.

well the ovas take parts of manga #11 and #12.but in the last one, manga #14 keitaros grandma tells him that naru is the promised one.

Even thou people say that Naru is the original promise girl in the manga, from what I have observed, it seems that despite the fact that Naru learnt to say the word Tokyo-U that does not mean she would have been intelligent enought at the age of 2 to understand anything about true love or what the Tokyo-U means.

The photo they shown in the anime had Naru in the front and Keitaro playing with a girl that looks exactly like the image of the promise girl that Keitaro remembers vaguely.

I suspect that the reason they said that Naru was the promised girl in the end was because everyone wanted Keitaro and Naru together but the Promise issue was a major hurdle for the both of them so Grandma and Turtle Girl must have realised that Kei wanted to be with naru but he still felt oblidged to get with the Promise Girl so they made out Naru was the PG so they could finally get together properly
