Well the last time I wrote this it basically made no sense whatsoever. In my defense it was due to tired dementia. I was trying to make a point while I was highly sedated. I am a compulsive typer and I write just what I am saying and what I was saying was gibberish. So here is what I was actually trying to say.

The Inuyasha and Kikyo relationship was just getting started when it was halted. This was due to Naraku's betrayal. It was a very meaningful bond and everything but it never really had a chance to really become anything. This was because they had only just met. They did begin to fall in love but didn’t get to because of Naraku and this was very unfair. (and we all know what happened when they were tricked) Then Kagome shows up and her and Inuyasha start to fall in love. (although it took a while). Kagome and Inuyasha had obstacles in their way but no one was really 'in' their way. They were on their way to a relationship (maybe not a love love one just yet) and Kikyo is resurrected. When Kikyo came back Inuyasha had to be with her. He was still in love with her and he also had the guilt of not protecting her. But Kagome and Inuyasha were friends now and couldn't stay apart for long. so Kagome said she would stay just to be 'by his side' and to finish what they started. But they keep getting closer in the series even though Inuyasha is devoted to Kikyo. This made things allot more complicated since he had already had promised Kikyo he would go to hell with her. He obviously still cares for his first love Kikyo but he also obviously cares for Kagome. Even against her Inuyasha is still dutifully protective of Kagome. I think this is why Kikyo resents Kagome. Also Kagome is free to love and be whoever she wants. Kikyo was raised a priestess and thus had to be 'pure' and had to defend the village. Kikyo had been very lonely up till the time she and Inuyasha met. She still is very much in love with Inuyasha even under all the hate she still feels. Kagome can't hate Kikyo and Inuyasha. She feels too much guilt and sadness over what happened to them. She doesn't even tell Inuyasha that Kikyo is trying to kill her (in the anime its different since In the anime Inuyasha knows). But Kagome still doesn’t want Inuyasha to go to hell and stops Kikyo. Another reason for Kikyo to hate Kagome. When she asked Inuyasha 'Is she more precious to you then me?' Inuyasha just blushed and didn't say anything. But he still loves her deeply risking his life to protect her from anyone. In the manga when he had thought Kikyo was dead he had to go look for her. When saying goodbye to Kagome he had thought 'Im sorry Kagome but I have to know first' this probably meant he had to be sure she was dead before he could be safe feeling anything for Kagome. She is still alive though and its even harder now since Kagome seems to be pulling away. (due to the fact when he had went to find Kikyo it was a trap and she was kidnapped and sango and miroku were nearly killed). With these couples it seems to go nowhere. No one can get what they want unless someone else is hurt. They story keeps getting more and more angsty. Its a perfectly 'feudal' fairy tale.

And again my point is. My point Rumiko Takahashi Is a all mighty goddess who can write plot lines like this that make us rage cry and laugh until we forget these people don't actually exist and were all just idiots.
