a license question

if a show, e.g prince of tennis, is licensed even tho the show has not ended, does this mean that everything that is shown after that is also licensed?

Yes that is true. take gad guard for example. it got licenced at about ep 15 or so. there's no point in buying the licence if they can get the whole season episodes rite?

but 1st and 2nd season involve different licences. therefore if there is an announcement of a second season doesn't not mean that the company who bought the first season licence are automatically entitled to the 2nd season.

No, not everything that is shown after this is also licensed. A good example of this is Inuyasha, where the first 30 episodes or whatever are licensed in the US, but nothing after that are.

That is because it was the first season.

Seeing as how HnI only got licensed recently, along with hng, PoT, and Slam Dunk still not getting licensed. I don't think fans of sports anime will have to worry about licensing.
