I was just watching my Fruit's Basket dvd for the 2nd time. What is it about this anime that brings tears to your eyes? It never fails to make my eyes water. It's not even as sad as most anime but it was the first anime that almost had me bawlin my eyes out. The Momiji scene where he talks about his mom was the saddest. Who agrees? Did the Momiji scene hit a nerve for any of you?

yeah, that scene was the sadest... i would just like to KNOW why people think the show is such great, lol... i found it kinda boring, except for the last few episodes, besides that there wasn't much of a plot....

I got bored near the end as well, but I watched it mainly because I liked the manga. Manga doesn't exactly have a plot, but there's this dark undercurrent running through it that Akito is planning something awful and Shigure isn't quite as nice as we suspected. It's pretty cool. Plus Ayame and Kagura are hilarious as usual. Fruits Basket isn't a manga about plot, it's about character. I thought the Momiji scene was sad as well, I had a lot more respect for him after reading that bit.
