I watched the anime like years ago. I just want to know does the manga go on after the series ended?

The anime is following the manga, but after the 2nd season (kind of season lol), the anime has catched up tha manga. That's why the whole storyline for the anime after Shishio (<- not sure the writing) act is different. I have to say that the manga goes a little bit better, because the manga will explain where the X scar comes from and Kenshin had a wife and on and on...

yeah the mangas ending is way better, after like episode 60 the anime stoped following the manga and everyone got OOC and the things that started happening were... strange... I didn't even understand the last 8 or so episodes with the whole water theme thing... not at all '_'
