For all those who are now participating in the Rite of Acceptance, god bless! May your journey be one of renewed spirit and grace. Our own candidates and Catechumens were introduced to our faith community on this feast day of "Christ the King" . . . very fitting.
When you take your place among the assembly, you’re not just joining us . . . the Church, you’re asking to let Christ be the center of your life. When you take your place in the assembly, you are taking your place within “The Body of Christ.”
For it is Christ who is made present in the world through the eyes and hearts and hands of all who gather in him. When we can proclaim Christ as "King," Our hands, become "his" hands. Our eyes, his eyes. Our heart, his heart.
When we “Love one another” it is Christ who lives through us. When we react to injustice, - Christ is present When we “do for others” Christ lives through us. When we treat our neighbors with compassion – Christ becomes abundant in us and in the world.
For all those who have opened their hearts to Christ and are hungry for the Strength of Character and Conviction that comes through true faith, For all those who are thirsty for life and ready to share it
For all those who approaced the door to our Church and said, "Yes"
Welcome, Peace be with you!
What have you said yes to?
"The Catechuminate" A period of reflection A period of study A period of humility and obedience A time to seek and to find.
When asked if you are a Catholic . . . the answer can be “Yes,”
Not in complete communion yet, But you are inside the doors of the church and “Yes you truly are one of us. You can't partake of the sacraments of the Church until such time as you can be accepted fully, but you do have access to the Grace of Christ . . . the same Grace and Peace that was granted to the thief on the Cross when Christ told him "Today, you will be with me in Paradise"
Peace, and God be with you
