Im just taken delivery of my new F4 1+1. The brakes, i must admit, are a little bit of a let-down. Spongy, and the lever travels almost all the way to the bars. DO they get better with some miles under their belt?

It sounds like the dealer did not do the full prep on it. Most likely there is air in the system. Bleed out the brakes thoroughly and then adjust the brake levers. There is an adjustment nob on the lever for posistion to the bar. This should resolve the problem as the MV have more than adequate brakes.

Initially, I was not impressed either on my 03 F4, but now after about 1500 miles, both feel crisper.. as if microscopic bubbles worked their way out of the system... (and I have seen that on many bikes with steel braided lines)..especially the rear which was pathetic at first.. I'm happy now..2 finger stoppies are a breeze..
