Getting Full Frame 35mm Image using Daylabgreenspun.com : LUSENET : polaroid transfers : One Thread |
A lot of my images are cropped very closely in the 35mm format. Is there a way to get the full frame image onto 3 1/4 X 4 1/4 or 4 X 5 by means of cropping or enlarging? This question probably doesn't make much sense as the two formats are completely different, but I have some nice pictures and by using the picture at full frame, I would lost a lot of compositional aspects in the photo that make them look nice due to cropping.

I just got a Daylab 35 plus and used it with 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 film and I couldn't get a full frame image. I guess it was dumb of me to assume that getting the model with bellows would allow such a thing. No, I'm not bitter ;). I don't know however, if this would be the case with the 4 x 5 film. I don't have experience with that. It is a bigger image plane so unless the daylab positions the 4x5 film much lower than the 3x4 film, maybe it would work.Sorry if this is obvious to you, but your question didn't mention dealing with the black so I though maybe you weren't aware of this... For an image transfer you would have two black bars or two blue lift- off bars on the horizontal plane where there was "extra" polaroid film that was not projected onto. For an emulsion transfer you could easily cut the black bars off with an exacto knife. (if I'm correct in assuming you intend to do transfers...)
