MARRIAGE OUTOF CHURCH THEN CONVERSIONgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread |
In another thread, marriage in a noncatholic manner was broguht up, now I have a queatsion. What if two people marry outside the Catholic CHurch who arent cahtolic, who later convert? Would they need ot remarry?

No, they would not need to remarry solely because they married outside the Catholic Church when they were non-Catholics.There could very well be other reasons why the Church would consider their marriage invalid, e.g., if one of the parties had been married and divorced previously.

there is a possibility of a confirmation of marraige...that is, like my uncle did when he converted, a couple could go to their local diocese and have them review the process of the marraige and issue an approval of valid marraige if the appropriate case existed.
