My Favourite Catechism Search - Incapacitated

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

Can anyone help me with something that’s been bothering me for a few months now? My favourite site to search the Catechism was here at:

http://www.christusrex.org/www2/kerygma/ccc/searchcat.html

Now however, when you click on the site and enter a word to search then hit “search” you get a response that says:

CGIWrap Error: Script dir not found

The specified user does not have a script directory set up for execution of cgi scripts, or the directory permissions prevent cgiwrap from using that directory. Server Data: Server Administrator/Contact: webmaster@ziplink.net Server Name: www.ziplink.net Server Port: 80 Server Protocol: HTTP/1.1 Request Data: User Agent/Browser: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) Request Method: POST Remote Host: d226-69-246.home.cgocable.net Remote Address: 24.226.69.246 Remote Port: 63467 Extra Path Info: /kerygma/a.pl Referring Page: http://www.christusrex.org/www2/kerygma/ccc/searchcat.html

Can anyone explain to me what all this means. Is the site permanently disabled? Is there nothing that can be done about activating it again? I have emailed the group who have maintained it in the past and the mail was returned to me. This was an excellent site and it seems a shame to have it now incapacitated.

Happens to me too. I have switched to: http://www.scborromeo.org/ccc.htm

Yes, I have had to switch also Bill. But I really miss the old site. It was excellent, very user friendly. I am hoping someone can tell me something about it. Can it be resurrected, etc.?

I find the search engine at www.vatican.va very helpful. It searches the Catechism, the Code of Canon Law and Church documents simultaneously. The results from the Catechism are displayed in a separate window.
