On my 2002 F4S I have the suicide automatic flic up side stand. Is it possible to change that mechanism to the not automatic system? As I understand in the manual the microswitch installed on my bike is the same and therfore no change is required. Anyone got experience of changing that and can tell me which parts shoul be changed or ordered new? Thank you for any help. Olav

Olav,

You need to get a Ducati 748/916 metal plate that connects the spring to side stand mechanism. The MV one is straigt but Ducati is curved so lets stand stay down.

In the UK it is very cheap. Also easy to fit.

you can also bend youre own, a few gentle taps with the hammer whilst you hold the stand down, you have to remove the belly pan to gain access.Very easy, i did mine over a year ago still good.

I went to my MV dealer and got a new one with is not automatic. I thought they stopped doing that in 2002 though. Anyway, it is available, I have done it.
