My son(Catholic) will be marrying a wonderful women (Lutheran) out of state in a Lutheran Church. They have agreed to baptize and raise their children in the Catholic faith. For the Catholic Church to recognize this marriage is a second ceremony or blessing required? I presume a Catholic priest would not be able to officiate along with the Luthern minister at the same time in the Luthern CHurch?

You do not necessarily need a second cerimony. Your son NEEDS a dispensation. With this he can marry in the Lutheran Church and have the Catholic Church recognize it as valid. He needs to contact his local chancery office. They will help him with all the details.
