Allah and God

I'm reading a book, Unveiling Islam: An Insider's Look at Muslim Life and Beliefs by Ergun Mehmet Caner, Emir Fethi Caner

It is very interesting. The authors are Christians who converted from Islam.

One thing that I learned was that "Allah", theologically, is not the same as our God, although most of us think it is.

Muhammed apparently redacted history to illustrate that Allah was the God of Abraham, Moses, Jesus, etc,

However, if a person believes in the Trinity and God is God,the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, by definition, this is not the same god as Allah.

Very enlightening.

And frightening, due to the mindset of Islamic jihad.

What is really bad, right now is that Islamic crazies see Christianity as weak and corrupted.

The soldiers in the prison confirmed that belief to them. The brutal killing of Nick Berg was a show of Islamic "strength".

We must train ourselves and our soldiers to recognize and compensate for the Islamic mindset.

As Americans, we have true strength through diversity, equality of sexes and personal freedom. We must show the world that this is also the Christian strength and hold ourselves to the Christian moral standards as a sign of true strength.

Anyone who would kill an innocent in cold blood must have a very black soul. May God, our God, understood in the context of Christianity, forgive them.

I'm not sure we can.

God bless,

Wouldn't be the same what the Jews believe either by that definition.

Bill, I enjoy your questions and responses.

Very interesting philosophical/theological question.

IMO: The Jewish belief in God is traceable to Abraham and God's revelation to him.

The Jewish belief in God is full in the belief of God the Father and the Holy Spirit in work through the prophets.

It is an incomplete belief, the Messiah is omitted.

Islamic belief in a monotheistic God has been redacted to fit what Muhammed believed.

I will say that Muhammed believe in an apostacy and that he was correcting it.

So did Joseph Smith for that matter.

God bless,

John, Personally, I think Joseph Smith was in it for the glory and money (my own opinion after reading "No One Knows My History"). As for Mohammed, I think he was trying to establish a religion based upon Jewish and Christian beliefs but specifically for Arabs. It is man made and modified over time by Mohammed as circumstances changed. It is really based, if you look at its essentials, upon Arabic pagan societal religions. A good book on this topic is "The History of God" by an ex-Catholic author.

In Christ,
Bill

I read the Koran, John Placette.

God Yahweh The God of Jews and Christians is the same God also of Muslims.

What Islam objects to is believing Jesus being God on Earth. For them Jesus is a great prophet.

Jews don't accept Jesus not even as a prophet.
