Home clinic & Insurance -- WARNINGgreenspun.com : LUSENET : AMTNSW : One Thread |
How many members who run a clinic from their home are aware that this may affect their household insurance... in my case insurance was declined by a big multinational insurance company when they were informed that clients entered my home. By the same token if you do not inform your insurer they have the right to refuse any claims I'm currently tring to find a new insurer who allows home based work.

Yes, I also heard this information. Have you had any luck yet in finding new insurance to accomodate clients in the home?.

It is my understanding that if you have people coming to your home for massage and they are paying you, you should have Professional Indemnity insurance and Public Liability insurance through an insurance company such as OAMPS or Garry P Brilley (who AMT recommend). This is in addition to any homeowners insurance which may include Public Liability to cover such visitors as tradespeople etc. Is your homeowner insurer aware that you have an additional PI policy?
