Medjugorje

Is is true that the messages from medjugorje are not consistant with Church teachings? I also read that the ones who claim that they saw Our Lady were caught in lies and also live materialistic lives today. Doesn't the Church ask us to stay away from these alleged apparitions? I ask this because members of our parish are trying to get enough people to go on a pilgrimage there.

The alleged apparitions at Medjugorje are a hoax. In researching the alleged apparition for 9 years, I have noticed lies from the so-called visionaries such as Ivan writting down when the so-called mircle would happen, but it never did.

I have read both sides of the arguments, but it just seems that were does one put their loyalites in. Plus there has not been one proven mircle there such as a healing. Everyone that has been sent to the Church's center to test such mirlces have been found not as mircles.

I cannot render judgement on whether Medjugorje is real or not...but I know of several people who have been there on a pilgrimage, and the change in them is striking. Each one has come back more dedicated and committed to their Catholic faith. Maybe they did not receive physical healings, but there is no doubt that they received spiritual healings.

I never went on a pilgrimage, but was moved by my friends' experiences and a lot of what I read, from Wayne Weible to Medjugorje Magazine. I attended a Marian conference featuring Fr. Jozo and was overwhelmed by the holiness of the man. My experience with Medjugorje, while on the periphery, strengthened my faith.

Is it real or not? I cannot be the judge. But what is that Bible passage about the Disciples complaining to Jesus about other people proclaiming they were doing works in His name?

Pax et Bonum.

It's real - the people who knock Medjugorje are often the ones who have never gone, and no nothing about the real history of the region

it is very sad to read these things, because they are based on ignorance

i went several times, and did much investigation (hmmm, when do you think the internet craze will catch on? 28 years?)
